Had a fun time playing the demo and the main game.
The UI is very similar to Slay the Spire, however the combat is an auto battler. If you enjoy these aspects then you will enjoy this game.
Just like STS, your success is entirely RNG - if you get bad relics or card drops, you will not win.

However they recently nerfed Dwarfs race's ability and has made the game extremely difficult to win.

Not happy with the changes made, I hope they undo these changes

Review just covers the Demo.
YES - absolutely recommend the game.
Reminds me of Slay the Spire (something I loved), however the combat is completely different. This is where it excels - timed windows where you strategically summon your units in order to maximise their effectiveness
Had so much fun levelling up the different races / commanders to level ten. I was literally "One more go" after each round and somehow clocked over 20 hours without realising it.
Being a demo version it wasn't clear if there were any additional races or more commanders outside of the initial ones you can see - maybe that's something for a future update?

Note - I've only played the demo so the experience is limited.

Best way to describe my experience: "Just one more round..."

The aim is to create a city using a combination of buildings, units and spells - these come in the form of 'cards'.
What you build will determine what you fight the enemy with. e.g. Auto-attacking Towers or Units.
You initially start off as a typical human army but the demo allows you to unlock 3 more army types - mage-like, demon & goblin/merc.

At the end of each round, you'll be rewarded with a random card based on the type of enemy you faced (e.g. Fight a demon/blood army - get a random demon army card).
Before each fight, you'll be able to play one card before the fight begins. Placing certain cards next to other ones will grant buffs and ultimately be the key for a successful round.
Your game ends when your Castle is attacked three separate times - whether one or 50 enemy reaches your castle, you'll lose one heart for that turn.

Progression works very similar to most others - Play to gain XP -> Progress till you're eventually overwhelmed by the enemy -> Level Up your abilities to start next round stronger -> rinse and repeat until you win
Once you've won, you can continue with an endless mode where your build will determine how far you'll go!

The formula seems somewhat simple but I think that's the charm of it. It's not over the top, have grand flashy stuff, or timers to rush you - it just gives you something tactical and you'll spend most of the time praying to the RNG gods hoping for that right card to build the perfect synergy. With 6 other kingdoms locked away, I'll be interested to see how crazy the strategies become once all are unlocked in the full release

I downloaded the demo thinking I'd get an hour of entertainment - 5 hours later and I'm still saying "Just one more round..."

If you enjoyed the previous XCOM games - then you'll love this.
It expands on the previous titles, and you'll always find yourself playing one more mission / doing one more turn before you eventually decide on going to bed :-)

A must have for any football enthusiasts.
Not too much has changed from its previous versions; but why fix something which ain't broken?

Pick your favourite team, try and remove those players you don't like and try bringing in those 2 or 3 superstars who'll bring your team success. Hire and Fire your staff, create your personalised formations, let your favourite player take those set-pieces. Even setup in-game tactics. There's alot for you to do here.

Apart from being lucky enough to do it as a profession, this is certainly the closest you'll get to it!
Played the FM franchise for years and I'm still lovin' it.

My only personal grip is that I'm an Arsenal fan (i.e. English Premiership); and its slightly annoying that you dont get their badges or kits due to 'licensing'. For much a successful game - would it hurt THAT much to break the bank for the preimer league?
