Finally 100% the steam achievements, and I can honestly say this might be my game of the decade.

What makes me love this game the most is the voice acting, and it gets even more incredible once you see the cast. At least half of them have more than one voice (one doing upwards of 6, Logan Cunningham is a voice acting god), and I would have never noticed if it wasn't for the credits. Also, with 55 hours on the switch, and 83 on steam, I have hardly heard any repeating voice lines, and that alone is a feat, but with how top notch it all is makes it that much more unique.

Then there is the gameplay. Somehow it takes a highly repetitive game, and actually keeps you engaged. Typically, these kind of roguelikes start to lose me if the game is too repetitive with not much change, but this one manages to do it. The build crafting has a lot of depth to it, and the actual gameplay is very satisfying to perfect.

The difficulty scaling is also brilliant. Early on, it is a punishing game that you start to learn, making it farther and farther each time, while unlocking more permanent powers to help you try and escape, giving you more and more of a fighting chance. As you get better and the base difficulty is not that much of a challenge, you can scale the difficulty with your skill, making it slowly harder and harder for yourself while you get better and better at the game, making you want to push for new heights and see how good you can get. The difficulty slider is also way better than most games difficulties, most games just increase the health and damage of enemies. While those are options, there are also a plethora of other options, potentially making each run a little more unique of a challenge.

I could go on all day about how much I love this game, and will recommend it to everyone, not just people looking for a roguelike. The story sometimes makes it not even feel like a roguelike. Even failures push the story forward, and after almost 100 runs, I am still finding more and more dialogue with the NPCs in the House of Hades.

Thank you, Supergiant Games for this masterpiece.

These hours are highly inaccurate, I have over 1400 hours between all my characters. They have really come along a lot from day one (shudders at Year 1), and it has gone from something fun to do every now and then with friends to my most played game in the last year. The one of the nice things is that it provides something to most players. There is quite a bit to do casually and for those with lots of hours to sink into it. They have a good variety of content that can be played solo or with varying sizes of teams, from 2-6 (6 being raids or PVP).
The game is primarily a looter-shooter, so most of the game is gear hunting through different activities and optimizing builds, while having (mostly) interactive gameplay. It does have some boring patches every now and then, but Bungie has been working very hard to keep the game interactive. I appreciate how much effort they have put into this game and how much they have been trying to listen to the users about content and balance, even if it can take awhile. *cough OEM Recluse cough*
I hope to see you out there, Guardian!

I am highly impressed by this game. There are times I actually forget it is a single payer and not an MMO with how decent the interations with NPCs are.

Early Access Review
I hate deck building and card games, but I love this. Sure, I suck at it, but it keeps drawing me back.

This is not a don't buy review. I enjoy the mechanics quite a lot. It just needs more variety, and once there is, this will be a positive review.
There is one and a half healers (one places a temporary weak medkit spawner, so its half in my opinion), one places temporary walls, and another can place an object that can see through walls. Other than that, its just different assault characters, some of which isn't balanced super well. Its not terrible, just little issues.
This game has a lot of potential, and is really fun at first. It just needs more characters.

The game modes themselves are pretty good, and would be made way better with more utility skills. Other than Blitzball. If each team is defending properly, no one gets anywhere. That game mode could be fixed just by needing less points to win.

I would either wait for a sale, or till more characters are released.

EDIT:
Well, now there is pretty much no hope for this unless it goes F2P. That is a bummer, it had great potential.

When I saw the preorder for this game, I made a sound I am not proud of. Then I worried it wold be a bad port and spent a month worrying. It was finally released, and I sang and danced. For several hours while my pathetic internet downloaded this game. Again, something I am not proud of.
This game is probably one of my favorite games of all time, and that is saying something. I had hundreds of hours on the Xbox version of the base game, and then sold it to get the Dark Arisen also on the Xbox, promptly beating it again. Now it is for the PC and I rejoice. I wish they made more games like this.
How many other games can you latch on to the side of a cyclops, and make it stagger off a cliff by stabbing it in the face, then use it as a meat shield to protect from the 100 foot fall? It is epic. I cannot recommend this game enough.

You will die by bees.
You will die by frogs.
You will die by meat eating plants.
You will die by insanity.
You will die by hounds.
You will die by spiders.
You will die by pig men.
You will die by darkness.
You will die by frost.
You will die.

But whatever you do, however you die, never starve. It is the saddest most pathetic of deaths.

I played it once, and it was awesome, but I didn't really get the chance to get into it, because now it says "Preforming first time set up" everytime I try to launch, then does nothing. Anyone else having this issue? But other than that, its a great game.
