Early Access Review
Used to really like this game, but the progression update really messed things up for me. It's been a horrible grindfest just to try to get decent gear. I've spent ~18 hours on this game in the past two weeks, (~132 hours of gameplay in total, but I'm unsure how much of that was after the progression reset.) and I'm still stuck using most of the low-level gear. Freezing temps often takes around 20 minutes (or longer) to confirm with the T1 thermometer, even without turning the power on. (on intermediate difficulty. It's even more difficult on the lowest difficulty, where the house isn't already cold)
I don't want to spend days of time grinding for money and xp, I want to get scared by ghosts with my friends. Instead, we're spending a ridiculous amount of time just waiting for the ghost to do something, or even getting killed before we find any evidence.
Me and my friend started a match earlier today where we went in, found the ghost room, and then my friend got hunted and killed at ~80% sanity, losing all of the gear she had been investing money into.
I want to love this game I've spent so many hours in, and I'm still going to keep playing it even after leaving this review. But at this point it's just sunken cost fallacy and not wanting to buy a different game.

Edit: After this review, they ended up releasing an update making the T1 thermometer less accurate. Now the temperature reading seems to randomly go up or down...? It makes it even harder to confirm a freezing temperature reading unless you're actively sitting in the ghost room staring at the thermometer the whole time waiting for the quarter-second moment that it dips below zero.
