Fun puzzle game with a story of finding the last will and testament of the deceased owner of a mansion full of eccentric safe vaults. :D There were different kinds of puzzles, some easier, some harder, but all pretty interesting and some definitely rather unique! I enjoyed solving the puzzles even if a couple of them turned out to be very difficult for me to figure out(but i did manage to get through them without resorting to spoiling the answers, yay! :D). I used some hint site online to help me out with some of the harder ones, but i used a site that only gave gradual hints because i still wanted to be the one who actually solves the problems, not just getting handed out straight answers...

The environment(rooms of the mansion) looked nice and after you have opened all the doors it's kind of fun to travel around the house clicking around different paths you can go through, though i guess i mostly used the fastest routes. Sometimes the music might disappear for some time if i had Alt+Tabbed out of the game and come back(might have something to do with how the game's max resolution is lower than the resolution of my laptop), at these times i sometimes "went on a walk" elsewhere in the house in case getting the music to return would be triggered by that(don't know, might just be that you need to wait a little bit of time). Sound effects never went away but i wanted to have the music present at all times just in case it changes when entering a new room or making progress. :P Oh, and the music was pretty nice and calm. I guess the music that starts playing when you enter the fountain room fits in the mood of the room! :D And it's good to have some relaxed music to listen to while you are working out the puzzles. :)

In the end it was cool how you get to choose who will get the inheritance of the deceased Duncan W. Adams, one of the options being you(i decided to choose the little Sarah[whom the hint site i used also suggested :D], but i watched a walkthrough video on Youtube that showed all those choices before i made mine, though this was because i couldn't remember the what each relative had said in their letters to Duncan...)! And you even get to PRINT his last will and testament on an actual paper if you want to! :D I didn't use a printer, instead i just digitally looked at the XPS file that the file dialogue saved. I'll make a note that after clicking Yes when the game asks if you want to print the will, the music stopped and i couldn't Alt+Tab out of the game. I pressed Ctrl + Alt + Del and chose to open Task Manager and then saw that the file dialogue to save the XPS file was open in another window. My mouse cursor wasn't visible outside the toolbar so i just typed the name of the XPS file and hit Enter to save it. After that i Alt + Tabbed back into the game and it was working normally again, telling what the person of your choice did with the will or congratulating yourself if you chose to inherit the properties instead. :) I guess you may want to be careful when going back into the game so you don't miss the text before the credits start to roll. Then again, you can just save the progress before unlocking the last vault(my last save is from before i even entered that room) and load it again to try different options. Again printing the will is optional so i guess without printing there won't be a risk of missing any texts in the end. :P

Fun game, i'm glad i grabbed the bundle of which this game was a part of, my instinct was right that i would enjoy this even if i could see from other reviews that some people have had technical difficulties with this old game(i ran it on a Win7 laptop and didn't have any problems. Playing on Win10 might require some little precautions to get it running properly, it seems.). I can recommend it to lovers of puzzle games and while you might have some problems running it on newer OSes, it should be fairly easy to get it running on them based on what i have seen on the forums and reviews, so go ahead and give it a try(if your brains can handle the puzzles, that is... ;) [Well, i guess some people might say getting the game to run is the first puzzle lol I just flew through that one, personally! ;D])

Fun little game where you get to do exercises in the company of your lovely loyal dog who's always there for you. :) Along the journey towards doing a whole set you'll meet some other supporting friends and during the subsequent sets you'll come to meet some more, each with their own little antics. :D I had some trouble getting the Hot Seeds achievement but i finally got it after i disabled Steam Cloud before starting a new set. Seems like different people have got past the problems with that achievement with different methods(some had to uninstall and reinstall the game, it didn't work in my case). Oh and yeah, the achievements in general were pretty fun to figure out(...can i really say this if i looked at the achievement guide?). :D

Editing this review to mention that the bug with the Hot Seeds achievement has been fixed. Can't verify it myself since i already got it before but i trust others' word on this. :D

Nice little horror game, i heard it would take you about 30-50 min to complete it so i figured i'd take my horror game virginity by completing this game as my first completed horror game, in case i can someday manage to get used to jumpscares and all that stuff(jumpscares are basically the only thing i can't handle about horror... gore is nice, psychological stuff should be... fun, since i'm very into psychology. 8D But give me one jumpscare and i'll keep anticipating it on a level of intensity which makes it pretty much impossible to play horror games. T_T Well, getting spoiled about where they will happen would help a lot... [and i may or may not have consulted guides about that for this game. The password for the computer terminal i decided to keep as a secret for myself and let myself figure it out... i like puzzles after all <3]). :D

Hmm... those jumpscares... they weren't that bad. I could handle them. Partially maybe because the game ran with a pretty bad framerate on my laptop(well, more like a decent FPS if i had restarted this laptop right before starting the game, then turned the Med and High FPS impact settings to Low while leaving the rest on High/whatever they were by default, then after the game started, i put them back to High and maximized both mouse sensitivity and the volume) so perhaps i missed some key frames during some of the jumpscares due to the lag and low framerate? :^) Well, i think i saw everything important, except i'm not sure what was supposed to happen with the window since i only heard a sound. I guess i'll watch some playthrough video later to see things the way i should have seen them hehe. :D

The game indeed was short but my gameplay time ended up being... 19,4 hours apparently(yay? ":D"), and that is because for the first session i tried to figure out the optimal video settings, hoping to get a better framerate, until i just decided to restart the laptop and do the adjustments i told about earlier... Actually, that was my second session. The first one was me launching the game and then instead of selecting Start Game, i decided to select Exit Game as a joke because this was indeed a horror game and i'm indeed not used to these games and the eternal nerve-breaken anticipation of jumpscares. :P So i had to meme around a bit, i guess... ^^" Took a few actual gameplay sessions to finally finish the game because i ended up running out of energy and feeling too tired a few times, and sometimes the game somehow freezed so i had to kill it. Also every time you launch this game, you need to go through the same ritual of Main Menu -> Instructions screen and OK button -> Video settings -> the game itself begins. There are not saving or loading functions. But i guess that's fair since the game is indeed very short so you can go through it in just one session. I, however, always like to take my time and look all the environments properly and take in and appreciate all the art in a game. :P So that also added to my playtime. X)

So yeah, nice little horror game, gave me a good first fully completed experience of this genre's game. Short duration, easy achievements, the jumpscares didn't leave me dead IRL so i think overall this game was pretty survivable and i came through this hurdle in a happy mood. :3 And yes, once i'll start playing some new horror game again, pretty much i'm going to be feeling that same anxiety over eternally anticipating any jumpscares to my death, we'll see if this stays forever or if i'll manage to reach that state of desensitization so that someday i won't be afraid anymore... at least not too much. :D

Oh and for Dead Thread Games, i'll be looking forwards to finding out what kinds of games/stories you will be making for us next/in the future! ;D Thanks for making this game~ Finally i got rid of my horror game virginity lol

Cute little game, kind of similar to Windosill. :D I'd say if you like one of them, you'd probably like the other too. :P I love the artstyle in this game and when the GNOGs "sing" to me after i completely solve them. :D

Interesting game that's supposed to help you in understanding depression and anxiety, although it's also not apparently recommended to those who might be struggling with these. Haven't yet finished it but based on what i have seen and experienced so far, it has been a very interesting experience already! I really loved the "follow the light" part as it played around with "perception" interestingly, kind of. :D

I probably should come back to this review and update it after i have finished playing the game...

A Battle Royale but it's super cute. :D

Might remind some of Happy Tree Friends with the theme, except there is no blood and gore(that may be a good thing lol). ;3

For some reason, most of the screenshots i have taken in this game so far have been... just me and other players dancing together in the welcome area. Maybe two post-game screen screenshots too somewhere amongst those ones. X) For some reason the dancing emotes really do entertain me a lot. :D

Oh and i guess i could mention that i played the Super Free Version maybe around 3 hours before i decided i couldn't wait longer before i buy the full game(and the DLCs) to be able to customize my animal... haha. It's nice that they offer the free version and it's completely the same as paid, but you just can't customize your animal much, although all your progress in gathered drops(cosmetics and such) get transferred into the full game once you unlock. Nice way to implement the trial; may cause you to feel desperate to hurry up and unlock the game though. :^)

PS.
PRAISE BANAN!
See you on the field in the bloodbaths(minus the blood)~

Cool little music visualiser/VJ tool/sort of rhythm and/or arcade (shooter) game from Matthew Brown, the creator of some nice little interesting puzzle games(that i recommend checking out if you like puzzle games), which is the most enjoyable if you want to look at it as a piece of interactive audio-visual art, using the music or audio that you yourself choose.

The menu is simple, there are only two(well, three because of the visualiser mode) game modes: in Arcade you shoot blocks(you move to left or right with keyboard and the thing in the front shoots automatically according to the music), in Dodge you are constantly running and try to avoid the blocks, although you have to avoid them from close to gather points. You get 7 credits for every dodge and lose 25 points every time you get hit by a block, which was interesting. Adjusting the music sensitivity might help reduce the blocks if there are too many of those, and lowering brightness should help if the visuals in the background get too distracting. Holding the motion blur button may also help with reducing and slowing what happens in the background. :D

It takes some time to gather enough credits to unlock all the modifications for the one and only achievement of this "game"(i have to say its value is more when used as a visualiser/VJ tool than as game, but it's enjoyable as the latter too, at least for me :D) but that shouldn't be a problem if you just play some good music that you would enjoy combining with this kind of audio-visual tool. ;) Ambient music might not be recommendable if you want to gather credits fast, especially if you use Arcade mode(actually, i can't really say anything about that because i played mostly in the Dodge mode, and listening to mostly energetic or fast-paced music).

I decided to not touch the Visualiser mode until i had unlocked all of the mods so that i could get the best possible experience, and it was a nice experience that way indeed. :D I listened to a random Glitch/Ambient album("rakombinacje - izolacje sensu", released on Webbed Hand Records for free) in that mode and... well, it was an awesome experience <3 I'm going to enjoy Sound Shifter more in the future as a live music visualizer and maybe i might also practise using it as a VJ tool because who knows how fun it could be to VJ somewhere someday(although i'm probably better off just as a simple listener/dancer in some party. But, you know, it's good to experiment and try out new things. :) At least as long as they aren't anything dangerous.).

Speaking of dangerous, i'm not completely sure but i have a feeling this might not be the game for you if you have got a tendency for epileptic seizures. But i guess you don't really need a review to tell you that if you look at the trailer and the screenshots and see for yourself. For this kind of thing, i think the pictures and videos speak for themselves much better than a text from a random rambler who can't keep things short. ;D

PS. I recommend playing this game with a controller than with keyboard. The effects are assigned to F5-8 keys and it probably will be kind of hard to use them effectively that way. It was much more intuitive for me to experiment and play with a controller. :D

Edit: for the record, i'll add that i had played this game for 7 hours at the time of writing the review. Not indicative of how long it will take to unlock all of the modifications, as i'm slow and like taking my time enjoying things in game to game. :D Also wanted to add this little detail because i know i'll be playing this game more in the future so the time count will change. :P

A really good music game that i can definitely recommend to lovers of music/rhythm games! :D While the game mechanics are different(in Audiosurf you have a few distinct lanes that you switch between while trying to hit score blocks, and you can use either mouse or keyboard; in Riff Racer the whole track is one lane, although for example there could be three ramps next to each other forming a row, and one's angle might be higher for a bigger jump[aiming to the middle of them is fun as it sets your car both barrel rolling and jumping, for even more points{unless if you fly out of the track. That happens. F.}], and the controls are steering to left and right, increasing and decreasing speed[although you can set the speed adjustment to be automatic, which i have done, although someday i want to try play with speed control set as manual :D], the drift button and the Nitro boost button. The mechanic in RR is that you try to make as much stunts[by drifting, jumping and barrel rolling] as possible to score high points. The drifting mechanic may take a little time to get used to but it's fun after that and i think there are even some subtleties to the drifting mechanic itself, which feels kind of cool when you notice how they work.), i want to compare this game to Audiosurf because i think the quality of the music analysis algorithms reach the Audiosurf level! I have played all kinds of genres in Riff Racer and it works really nicely(i also once made a long post in the forums, suggesting the devs music in some less well known [Experimental or {Hard }Electronic ]music genres so they could test their algorithms against more diverse styles of music). :3 Energetic tracks will most likely have the higher speed/difficulty and some calmer songs i'd describe as a relaxing "evening sunset ride", if that explains the mood you can get from them. :D Sometimes you may get funny results like when some Speedcore tracks get high speed race tracks created but others may end up with an amusingly slow track. And i'll say, that isn't a bad thing if you can take it with humour(i guess those blasting streams of Speedcore kicks may be a bit... confusing, to some music algorithms :P). :D Sometimes you get tracks that have got a death gap/jump where you just won't be able to reach the other end without falling down. That means no 100% score for said track but it doesn't really matter at all for your score as long as you otherwise get a high percentage on it. And even then, those death gaps are really rare. Sometimes the 5 star tracks(the highest difficulty/speed assignable to the track by the algorithm) can get crazy with the twists, ramps and jumps but it's kind of appropriate if it's a high-tempo song and, once again, if you can take it with humour and laugh at those moments(including at your own mistakes), you are going to have great time. :D With the right energetic high-tempo track that has got analyzed well, you can get such nice adrenaline rushes from all that drifting(just my own hint: Freeform Hardcore tracks can get really wild, both as music tracks and as race tracks. ;) I got some of my most-rewarding-feeling and longest drifts there. >8D)! There is also a nice selection of music that comes inside the game and they already give you some playtime to go through, before you have to use your music to play new songs. :D

The only few negative things about this game for me are that it unfortunately doesn't support Unicode, which is a big minus for me since i'd want to play for example Japanese songs but since when you play a new song in this game, if nobody else has played it before, your name will be saved as "creator" of the race track. So i have been feeling very hesitant towards the thought of becoming the "creator" of some garbled mojibake "track titles". :S I think the devs added a support for Cyrillic letters at some point but... yeah. That's just one set of symbols in a world of so many more. :v

The other minus comes from the social parts of this game. We have the leaderboards which is awesome for competing with other players, but there is no hub to for example see what songs your friends(or other players) have played recently, no way to recommend songs for others to play... at least you get notified if your score on some track gets beaten(just like Audiosurf's dethronement notifications). With that in mind, the community has made an unofficial Discord server to help us find each other and discuss the game/recommend songs to play, as we haven't got a better solution for the "social problem".

One thing that may trouble many people about this game is that if you like getting all of the achievements of a game, the last one called "Wild Style" WILL take LOTS of grinding to get because all of those paint jobs require quite a lot of coins(in-game currency that you can pick as objects on the track when you are racing, and only that way. You can't buy those coins.). So be prepared to play loooooots of songs to get that last achievement, and don't forget that aside from the songs that come within the game, you have to have all your music in your computer; no Soundcloud, Youtube, Spotify or other streaming services have been integrated. We kind of tried to approximate what could be the amount of tracks required(although, you obviously can play tracks again and use ones that you like for grinding too) for Wild Style and if we assume the amount of coins needed for all the paint jobs to be 450k(i once calculated 425500 coins but can't remember how many paint jobs i had already bought at that point. I did have already played the game a lot though. The actual total amount of coins required for all cars[you need to buy the car before you can buy its paint jobs] and paint jobs needs to be calculated at some point by someone.), and assume an average song gives 150 coins and lasts for 3,5 minutes, we would be looking at 3k tracks and 175 hours. It sounds a lot and it IS a lot but... if you really love music and these types of games, and have got a lot of patience, you can do it! I haven't got it yet and i'm refraining from buying any paint jobs until i have reached the amount i once calculated because i have noticed that this way in my case motivates me a lot more in the grind than buying a paint job whenever i can and otherwise staring at a low amount of coins. :P I know other people who have got that achievement, though. It's a long journey but just play some interesting and nice music and enjoy the ride, taking your time. ;)

I should probably also mention that apparently the devs have abandoned this game, or at least just moved on. It's kind of sad but if you ask from me, they did put this game into a really good state. It's not perfect but it works really well and the lack of Unicode support won't be a problem if you mostly listen to music with artist and track titles in Western alphabets. :P As for the social parts' problems, try the forums and/or the community Discord server if you don't have friends who play Riff Racer or if you are running out of ideas about what to play. We can also help with some problems and the Steam community has also created some guides for dealing with some bugs that may sometimes happen(like the infamous one where the game is unable to connect to the servers, which is fortunately quick and easy to fix; i got that once too but already knew about the guide at that time).

So all in all, buy if you really love music; if getting all achievements matters a lot to you, consider whether you'll have the energy, patience and love for music required for the big grind for that last achievement(i want to say that you don't have to worry about whether there's enough music or if you'll have enough money, because i personally know lots of netlabels that collectively release massive amounts of legally free music all the time, so even if you can't buy music, there are always lots of music available for free download legally). Consider joining the community too!

Really fun game, you'll love it if randomness is something that gets your really excited, like it does for me. :D I decided to get this game after i saw that multiple people in a certain friend circle play it and it seemed interesting and i definitely don't regret buying it! :D The game looks nice and also features lots of good music(each characters has got their own track that gets played during the games) too, even if most tracks are royalty-free music(it still means they show a good taste in the music they pick to use in this game! ;) ).

Prepare to worship the Gods of RNG if you want to do well in this game. As a randomness enthusiast i personally don't mind even the worst of rolls coming down my way. :P At least i can laught at those moments(while crying inside).
