The P5R soundtrack has burned so deeply into my brain that I can hear it playing in my head like I’ve got a soundtrack to my own life

Started playing Factorio thinking "cute little factory game" now I'm calculating the bandwidth bottleneck of my local McDonalds drivethrough.

My girlfriend dumped me for prioritizing belt throughput over our relationship. Tried explaining that automated inputs are more reliable than manual insertion, but she said that's not how intimacy works.
She left me but the joke's on her - that's one less resource drain on my mental CPU and I can finally focus on nuclear power optimization!

Factorio really makes your brain overheat sometimes, but the process of working through the issues of your factory always ends up with a dopamine hit... then you run into new issues and the cycle starts again.

Factorio is listed as a survival game because it teaches you various survival skills, like how to survive on 2 hours of sleep and barely any food in an environment not quite suitable for humans anymore. I don't need a circadian rhythm, I have circuit networks.
Since I started playing Factorio I noticed an increase in my problem solving skills in real life.
To optimize bathroom breaks I implemented a buffer system called "empty bottles"

Even though I hesitated buying it (I refunded it twice), Factorio is the most fun experience I've had playing a sandbox game since long ago, and I never thought I would like a game like this, where you have to engineer stuff - I always thought my brain is not suited for it, turns out it actually brought my fascination with engineering activities to the surface.
It also ruined my life in the best possible way.
It has a really intimidating entry barrier - don't get discouraged by it and give it a try. I decided to push through that barrier despite finding it tedious for the first 10 hours. And then it hit me. After that, I realized I spent a whole day playing it completely unaware of my existence. This is game is an epitome of flow state.
Right now I'm probably on several government watchlists for my concerning Google searches about optimizing nuclear missiles production - but my factory... my factory is beautiful.
And it must grow.

PS - I've calculated that reading this review has took approximately 3.7 minutes of your potential production time. Please optimize future reading sessions accordingly.

The overwhelmingly positive reviews has to be some kind of a joke right?
Characters are annoying (soy consuming rockstar wanna be mc)
Dialogues are cringe (like bad 2009 era tv shows for teenagers)
Combat is enjoyable but has some extremely annoying flaws that will ruin your fun
For a rhythm game the music is laughably bad
Plot is nothing special but it's okay
The only thing that I would consider good about this game is the art style
Read the negative reviews too.

Buying this is pretty much like joining a cult

it starts out with some innocent flicking and clicking (just like whack-a-mole but cooler)
its annoying but you like to see your scores improve
you're checking out some guides
you discover what voltaic is
you buy your first sub 70g mouse (you're not a weightlifter - you're an aimer)
your mousepad is not on the recommended list so you are spending your last money on an artisan mousepad
144hz monitor? its [insert current year] bro sub 360hz is unusable (you get a new one)
ALRIGHT, NOW YOU'RE READY FOR THE REAL TRAINING...
you grind
you realize you spend more time in aim trainer than in the game you trained for
but you like it and you have to get that VOLTAIC GRANDMASTER
you delve into neuroscience books to understand more
THERE IS A NEW MOUSE EVERYONE USES! (so you buy it)
stock skates? literally unusable. you apply some obsidian skates despite the pain of additional 2 grams
you scrape off the last bits of plastic on your mouse because at this point even 40g is too much
YOU'RE IN A PRETTY TERRIBLE DEBT BECAUSE YOU BOUGHT YOUR 4TH MOUSEPAD (this month)
YOU'RE SPIRALING LOWER AND LOWER EVERY TIME YOU COMPLETE A TASK (but you're in the top 0.5%)
at this point you're so far gone you believe your sweater's (with the right sleeve obviously cut off) static electricity causes signal disruption to your peripherals
CARPAL TUNNEL? MORE LIKE A BADGE OF HONOR.
your aimer diet is not enough so you start adderallmaxxing (just perfect on glasspad surface)
you buy electrical muscle stimulation device to aim train even better

every bit of sanity has been lost at this point but it was a small price to pay for inhumanly fast clicks.
was it worth it? yes.

can't wait to get my hand bone surgery for optimal grip and neuralink implants for lower input delay

>train aim for hours
>get confident
>jump into a match
>get f'd by a player with 5$ tesco mouse

overall, a decent aim trainer but its very unpolished, doesnt feel as good as kovaaks
good luck grinding scenarios with 3 second loading time every time you restart (its not the countdown its the loading even though i have a ssd, in kovaaks its instant)
get kovaaks on sale instead - it has better scenarios/playlists/customizability/everything by miles
only excusable exception to use this is if you're short on money

As a dwarf, you and your squad of idiots embark on dangerous missions to mine minerals for Hank Schrader himself!

The gameplay consists of two things: mining ore and being attacked by hordes of alien bugs that want nothing more than to end your too-short life. Classic. There are numerous interesting minerals to mine like Morkite, which I'm pretty sure gave me cancer from proximity alone.

While the graphics may appear unrealistic by Earthly standards, they in fact capture photo-realistic detail from a distant corner of the cosmos. Most of the time though, the graphics are invisible due to being underground.
The soundtrack consists of mining machinery, your companions screaming as they are eaten alive and "ROCK AND STONE" chanted in between.

This game has taught me a valuable lesson: alcoholism can be very fun. After a long day of swinging pickaxes, there's nothing quite like returning to the space station bar to get falling down drunk and jam out to metal music while dodging flying beer mugs. If that's not a realistic job simulation, I don't know what is.

While the trailers may not seem convincing, you definitely should give it a try.
Reminder: you can refund it before hitting the mark of 2 hours of gameplay if you don't find it fun.

I strongly recommend.
