DooM is a FPS game that improved off fo wolfenstein3D to launch the FPS genre to center stage. A lot of the improvements are graphical such as floor and cealing textures. While some are dealing with rendering like you can now use slopes and stairs.

It has fast paced action and a modding community that makes it even better.

You should really pick up this game.
