Is this game a joke?

There hasn't been a truly fun NBA2k game that had a MyCareer since 2K11. Speaking of MyCareer, unless you're willing to spend at least $150 for in-game currency, prepare to play as this guy who is trying to be all "hype" about building a "dynasty", but instead flails around the court like a bumbling idiot, tripping over his shoelaces, being unable to move on offence, the AI acting like you're not even there while you're on defense, moving like you're the most out-of-shape person in the world, and being an all-around embarrassment who shouldn't even be in the NBA in the first place. Oh, your guys has a 99 potential, but let's give him enough skill points to be a bottom-f**king-rung with a 60 overall rating. Very fun, guys. You already got my money (even if I got it during this last Spring sale), I'm not giving you any more.

Also, why the hell did they implement all this stupid online garbage in a game-mode called "MyCareer"? Why do I need to drive around in a stupid gokart or do all these inane "side quests" so the game stops f**king bugging me about it and making it my active quest? It's like when a brand new player joins GTA Online. I don't want to do all this stupid crap that has nothing to do with an NBA career. I just want to play f**king Basketball! I don't think LeBumble James has to drive in a stupid gokart going to clothing stalls, buying 7,000VC shirts so he doesn't have to look like Generic McSweatpants or play a 3v3 game against the Hamburglar in an obvious mismatch where you have zero fun. Have the online features be its own separate game-mode! Get your heads out of your a**es, 2K.

The AI is stupid too; all they do is set screens and shoot 3's, miss on purpose so you don't get assists, and just stand there looking foolish. My god, the AI in 2k11 had MUCH better AI than this.

If you want any kind of semblance of fun, play the MyNBA mode with player-lock so you can create a custom player without being limited by stupid in-game currency paywalls and be able to control your character with at least some fluidity.

Also, the new shot meter is absolute garbage.

I'd rate this a "so-so" if I could. It definitely tried to stay as true to the original as possible which I'm very happy about. However, playing this made me just want to play the original that much more... so I did and beat that one instead (which is the main reason I'm giving it a Not Recommended). There's just something about the original that felt a lot better than the remake.

I still think it's a great attempt at remaking such a classic game, but there were just some things I didn't really like about it.
-Redesigning certain rooms/corridors from the original that didn't make sense
-No constant music (which was one of the best things about the original)
-Tried to spice up Cyberspace and turn it into a space shooter needlessly
-Voice acting of the audio logs
-Forced "boss encounters". IMO, there were no boss encounters in the original game other than Cyber Diego and Shodan. They tried to insert more encounters in the remake
-Playing Tetris with your inventory (it was only fun in RE4, guys)
-The concept of recycling junk to make it valuable, thus cluttering inventory space and playing the aforementioned Tetris
-The floors all look so samey. In the original, you could tell which floor you're on based on how floor/walls/ceiling looked.
-The puzzles are are annoying compared to the original

I may be nitpicking, but I'd rather play the original game 99 times out of 100. System Shock did seem like it was a very hard game to remake given the way the controls and UI was in the original (translating that to modern-day standards would be a huge challenge) and I think they did do a very good job at it and I'd love it if more classic LookingGlass games got remade, but again, when it comes to System Shock, I'm sticking with the original... but don't let my opinion stop you from getting it. Form your own opinion.

Until they fix it, fix the UI.

Oh, and the issues other people are having too.

Really interested in seeing how this game progresses. It's already a pretty fun game with a decent amount of stuff to do in it (as far as shop simulators go). It can be a bit raw at times, but all of it can be forgiven with the fact it is in early access and being actively worked on. Also the fact the game uses AI for its art can also be forgiven because... well, do you know how hard it would be to make that much unique art for a TCG? With a little bit of knowledge on how game development and production works, I can understand the decisions made in order to make the game playable for the public (which I can appreciate). Critics are the most out of touch on the subject and I can see the passion behind this game and what it ultimately wants to become.

Having said that, hey developer, can I get a unique bit of code added so only I can get really expensive cards, please?? :)

Seriously this game is good and does show a lot of promise.

KeeperFX is a necessity to get a smooth experience when playing this. Not does it only let you run the game on more modern hardware without the limitations of DosBox, but it also provides a plethora of bug fixes and very slight map changes to make the game much more enjoyable. Did you know you can actually fortify and capture rooms as an Imp in first person with KeeperFX now?!

Get it from here: https://keeperfx.net/downloads

1. Extract everything in the .7z file into your \Dungeon Keeper\DOSBOX\ directory.
2. Rename "Dungeon Keeper.exe" to something else (put an underscore at the end of the .exe or something)
3. Rename "KeeperFX.exe" to "Dungeon Keeper.exe".
4. Enjoy!

Want to make maps for Dungeon Keeper? Get "Unearth" as well.

Nerfdivers 2. Why are these devs so anti-fun? The fun part is feeling like a badass and mowing down hordes of enemies, not constantly running away like a wuss from a small group of enemies every single encounter because the weapon I was using before got nerfed into the ground. Do they seriously not playtest these changes before they go live?

Also, why is the game still banned in 180 countries? I can understand North Korea being banned, but what about the other 179 countries that don't deserve it? F*ck off, Snoy.

Once you get the hang of the UI, know how to buy/sell stonks without a second thought, and know what to expect out of certain decisions you make, this game becomes strangely addictive. Sure, it's not *your* money, but it is your money so making risky decisions can make or break you. You just want to make more and more... and more... more money...!

My saved game seems to really favor the Media and Advertising companies so when the market dips a ton (even though no real event highlights this) and I buy up all those companies' stocks I'm suddenly a billionaire, making half a billion yen in monthly dividends, but not wanting to spend it on luxury because I want to make more.

Just be careful of sudden stock market crashes... They're about as unpredictable as Blizzard making good decisions.

The game is a lot of fun and weirdly rewarding when risky moves pay off... thanks to Yoshiro. Also, there's Amy. Amy has big assets.
