This review is more-or-less to balance out the entirely positive reviews thus far.

Does this play as advertised?
Yes. As long as you have 3-4 people to play with.

Will this game scratch that 'Wii Play - Tanks!' itch?
Not really. This game is versus-only and the bots are a joke.

Further Comments:
The bots are extremely easy and predictable. The upgrade system is cool but the process of gathering enough coins is anything but (you essentially have to ignore the opponents in order to save up enough coins to upgrade). And if you play with real players, you usually don't get enough coins to upgrade much. Even if all of the above was fixed, the game simply lacks content. Not enough maps. Not enough abilities. Not enough things to do. Game play loop is too repetitive.

IMO... If the devs could add more content, I think that'd be a good start. Maybe even implement some type of single player challenge mode for more gameplay variety. In its current state, most people will likely play this game less than an hour and never touch it again (see the average playtime of other reviewers for reference).

As someone who enjoyed the first Little Nightmares game, I can confidently say that I did NOT enjoy the second one. It was not fun.

I’m so disappointed in this game, by the time it was over, that I’m not even going to bother restructuring my thoughts below. Here are my revised notes:
- Missing the intrigue
- Straight up buggy. Two instances where I had to restart entire chapters because I was soft-locked.
- Some of the puzzles were far too mechanical; found it frustrating to operate 3D precision (taking into account depth perception). Particularly when some of the scenarios literally required perfection. One instance of slight of imperfection may have caused the most intense, unintentional eye-roll I’ve ever had in my life.
- Having a companion made it less eerier overall
- More jump scares than the first game
- Bosses were VERY meh, felt lazy. And similar gimmicks to the first game.
- Combat was repetitive and insanely unforgiving, given the 3D element mentioned earlier
- Something about character momentum was not right
- Towards the end, game ran out of unique ideas besides chase scenes.. chase scenes.. chase scenes
- Ending was… erm. It was an ending

Positives:
- For the most part, kept the eerie vibe of the first game. Universe is quite literally a nightmare.
- Does tie into the first game in terms of lore

a fun little game :)

If you like Undertale, you'll probably like this as well.

You know what's worse than a 'Getting Over It'-style game...
...a BUGGY 'Getting Over It'-style game where you randomly clip through floors and get violently flung across the map at normally inconspicuous spots (neither of which are by design).

Still going to finish this game because I'm stubborn AF but I DO NOT recommend this game.

TLDR: Buggy game = no fun

booooooooooo needing to buy dlc for all achievements is cringe.
