The game is fun, the art direction is great, the writing is memorable. I highly recommend reading the audiobook included in the deluxe edition for more. My only complaint is that the smoke grenade feels pretty useless compared to the other special vehicle systems.

I was willing to look past Paradox's DLC strategy when it came to CS because of the lack of other modern city builders. But today they put out a new update to push their own telemetry collecting launcher. This new launcher has broken saves, mods and worsened performance. It sucks Paradox is intent on ruining every game they own, after today I can no longer recommend CS to anyone.

AI War 2 makes the complexity of the original much more manageable. Fleet construction, scouting and the micromanagement of research and resource gathering have all been streamlined without removing a large amount of the game's depth. If you were intimidated by the first game, I strongly suggest giving the sequel a shot.

If you liked 90s 3D platformers this game is basically a "greatest hits" collection of bits from them. The only downside is the length but if you get it on sale it's fully worth it.

The game's graphics are corrupted and pixelated, phase in and out, etc.
If there is an options menu to play in windowed mode I couldn't find it.

Technical stuff: I played the game via Steam Play on Linux and as of the time of this review it works without any issues I could notice. I played the game with a Dualshock4 so I wasn't impacted by the limited joystick support.

I am a big fan of the PS2 Ace Combat games and AC7 felt like a wonderful capstone to the story and gameplay of that trilogy. The clouds work well with the map design and even if they are a relatively small new feature it helps the franchise’s solid gameplay formula feel fresh. The multiplayer modes are a bit limited and I would to see some objective-based versus and co-op modes added.

Story wise, my only real disappointment was that Tabloid isn't Galm 2 despite the similar appearance and teasing. Other than that it was the same hammed up, anime-style storytelling that fans of the franchise have come to love.

I loved this game on the N64 as a kid. It's still a fun racer, but could use more variety in the tracks. The mirror track option you unlock after finishing the tournament mode doesn't really help that much. The difficulty curve is a also a bit weird, with the cloud city tracks being painful exercises in staying on a few small strips of track with most other stages being relatively easy.

If you played the game as a kid I reccomend it since it will let you get that magic back for a few hours. If not, you can probably find a better modern racing game.

You walk around for 30 minutes reading some post-apocalytic drama and get a minor jump scare.

Very cool game with lots of potential. Just needs single player mode or a larger player base so that I can play more.
