Early Access Review
Like the other reviews state there is a lot of potential here. The game is promising, lets just hope they deliver. To be honest as of right now the content is short, due impart to the time limiter. Im no game dev, but i think a better mechanic to strive for is to allow the player to fight the boss whenever, however the longer they wait the stronger the nightmare gets. That way aggressive players/speed runners can still express their knowledge, and the less proactive players can still fight the boss on their terms, scaling, exploring the map as they please, but would have to deal with a more difficult boss.

The combat feels great but like i said the time limiter cuts the game too short for my taste. I love the stylistic choice of art, the enemy designs fits the atmosphere.

I understand that ravenswatch is in EA so of course my gripes can be overlooked fairly easy, but to be honest, the short runs and current content dont warrant a purchase **right now**. But theres a real solid foundation, and the devs can really make something special here. Come back later when they drop more content

For the price its not bad! 3 bucks for a decently polished game. Not for me
+music is good
+art is good
+premise is good
+lots of game modes
+fun v/o
where it falls short for me a bit is in the quality of life and game play area.
-there is no audio cue for the geometry enemies, zombies, and projectiles so if you aren't constantly turning your mouse you'll end up getting sneak attacked quite often
-sprinting isnt automatic, you have to hold it which to me makes no sense, as there is no situation where walking>sprinting, you dont get inaccuracy while shooting and running so why is there no auto sprint or at least a toggle option?
-as of current there is no level/score part in the hud so you cant see how well you are doing. I saw them in the video but idk how to turn em on.

These are just my gripes with the game but maybe i just need to git gud. Ill be returning the game personally but If you can get past all the negatives, or they dont bother you, by all means buy it. The game is 3 dollars for crying out loud, just try it out.

the 30 dollar asking price, for a dead fps is really a big turn off. Even with the slight quirk of gravity-less combat, that price is a turn off. Im not even sure going f2p will save this game

Not worth the price tag.

If you are buying absolver for the PvP, the player base is breathing its last breath.

If you are buying absolver for the PvE, its short and wont last you longer than 7 hours to do a complete run.

Once you complete PvE, PvP is the main focus of the game, and although it feels great to fight someone, you wont find anyone in the combat trails to fight for 30+ minutes.

To refight bosses you have to do one of two things.
1. Remake a character
2. Up your combat trial level

Fighting more than one enemy is a hassle. The locking system wont allow for quick swapping targets. Once another player joins the area, the amount of enemies scale up. Which is fair, until you consider the fact that some people afk at the alter of the area. So this makes a situation where there are more enemies for you to fight alone.

The game was realeased way too early. Had the developers spent a little bit more time to polish the game, I truly believe Absolver could have been a success. Dont buy the game until there is a spike in new players.
