Simple and disturbing.

Pretty fun, decently challenging.
I don't really like the bigger form as it really gets in the way of movement (as it should be) and everything starts feeling a bit clunky, but outside of that, it is a solid experience!

Interesting POV for the military side of the story, plays like HL1 but has more alien weapons which are very fun to mess around. Love the fish rocket launcher

I was really hyped for this game since I saw the first trailer idk how many years ago and they were very careful not announcing dates and such so that they could work more on the game and deliver the best experience possible so I think my expectations were aligned with what was promised.

The game stutters a bit, but nothing critical and usually goes by fast. Combat sadly didn't feel as fluid to me as I was expecting, the timing for everything seems to be off by a few miliseconds. Like the dodge doesn't work as soon as I press the button but a bit later than that (yes, even outside of combos - I'm fine with having to finish my combo animations to be able to dodge) and the switch between light and heavy attacks also feel a bit off with the timing.

But the diary with the yaoguai's lore? Loved that, always wanted to get to know more about it! The literature part is just fantastic.

I'm giving up after 40-ish hours on the game and finishing the third world. Am not happy playing it like this.

I'm writting this as I just finished Shadow Generations. It is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. Buy it.

As a long time Sonic Fan I'm very happy to see that rather than "A step in the right direction" this is a very good Sonic game. Sega & Sonic Team definitely learned from Frontiers mistakes and used that to make this game better. I haven't touched Sonic's portion of the game yet, but it was my favourite modern Sonic game. And I know they just made some small improvements and QoL stuff.

As always, OST is a banger. I hope Chao Garden becomes a DLC or future update for the game, they need some love too!

This is a neutral review.

If you are looking for some casual road driving, this is good and I can recommend it. But there are a few issues with the game that are just plain annoying.
The AI is ♥♥♥♥. Cars will constantly brake check you and more than often they will turn as soon as they turn on the turn signal, making them crash into you. And guess what? You are ALWAYS at fault. No matter if they crashed into you or brake checked so you'd crash on them. Which means your tickets keep piling up (but then CAN be disabled). You turned on your signal and are waiting for an opportunity to go? Well, you'd best speed it up cause no one is stopping (just like in real life, so that one is very realistic). Too many times I got cop cars popping out of nowhere behind me just to ticket me too, so beware of that.

Ticketing system needs a massive overhaul IMO (again, they can be turned off). Makes no sense to get a ticket for going 1mm over the red lights and there should be a tolerance for speeding down. Lost count of how many times I was into a 60 section that would turn into a 50 for a brief time for no apparent reason and with a speed camera. Didn't slow down fast enough? Ticketed. Also, going 1 or 2km above the speed limit is something that I'm pretty sure is within tolerance (I believe tolerance is 10% in my country). How are you supposed to do take overs then? My deliveries are waiting.
Not to mention that you will get a ticket for not having your lights on by the exact time that the game decides it is dark. There is an option to have that be automatic, but it only works in YOUR truck. The ones you are using to make money as a driver for other companies don't get that setting applied.

Road incidents are another thing that needs rework too. I don't mind that they make me take another way, but the fact that they NEVER go away and force you to take another way is just trash. Heard that you can go around them and nothing happens, but haven't tested since I decided that disabling them would make more sense. There is also nothing indicating that you HAVE to take another path, it is just a police car sitting there and no lights indicating in the turn right BEFORE the block. I reared so many people trying to get back on track.

Parking challenges are fun in the begging but they get repetitive after a while since they are always the same, but they are also optional.

So, yeah. I'm complaining about a lot of stuff that can be turned off and is optional, but I believe they are a core part of what the game designers had in mind. And all of this is on by default as well, so it might take you a bit of time to figure it out.

It is a fun experience that will likely satisfy your needs for Arcade classic Arkanoid/Breakout type of games!
All the character interactions are good and music is great!
