Early Access Review
The game is a lot of fun and seeing the planet change from a barren orange rock to a green world is really cool. All the basics are well taken care of and make it a more complete and polished experience than a lot of early access games. The mechanics are well explained enough by context that there isn't a need to visit any external references.

I would like to see some modifications to the bloom and saturation as some of the environments are just overwhelmingly fogged and colored that it is just jarring. Also night just feels like they slap a dark solid overlay color over the game so it is very difficult to see. Honestly the game is well worth a try and I look forward to what the devs do with it next.

Volcanoids is a cool spin on the standard open world crafter kind of game. The drill ship mechanic as a limited base really does give it a different feel to any other games in the genre (that I have played at least). Right now the game is pretty bare-bones and I was able to beat the main story in 11 hours, but it has a solid and interesting foundation.

Good
-Drill ship mechanic is interesting, having a mobile base makes things more unique
-Lots of customization in the base, plus various control and automation features many games require modding for
-Good pacing of upgrades and travel to different zones

Bad
-The game is still very early and is missing quite a bit of depth (no major survival elements, simple terrain and enemy variety)
-Volcano eruption mechanic is way too avoidable and low impact
-Resources are way too easy to gather while submerged, once you are decently set up you have no reason to surface except for crafting

Suggestions
-Make the volcano eruption a random time limit so it isn't so predictable. Also make it so the timer visualization and warnings are tied to upgrades. Being able to know the volcano timing down to the second from 15 minutes out with audible warnings of the impending eruption makes it way too easy to deal with.
-Add more variety to the layers of tunnels. The surface is a nice different biome but cave levels 1 2 and 3 just feel identical and boring. Possibly make some sub-biomes in there that have higher concentrations of different resources?
-Reduce the number of resources you can get while submerged, or tie it into an upgrade that you can improve over time. About 3 hours into the game I never bothered mining myself, unless something I wanted was on my way to another drill train.

Seriously this is the best controler I have ever used. The feel is great and the customizability is off the chart. Any time you can legitimately plan an MMO made for PC on a controller, you know you have something special.

Warframe is a must get for almost any shooter fan. The weapons are fantastic and they all feel quite enjoyable with few exceptions that I have tried. The upgrading system is extensive, letting you set up your equipment however you want it to be. The actual movement system lets you do crazy things with only a little headache from interperative controls. On top of this, there is so much extra content in the game that it will take many hours to get to it all. On top of this, the game is free to play with everything except for color packs and syandanas (scarfs) being obtainible without paying real money. Also, you play as a FREAKING SPACE NINJA! Every friend I have introduced to this game has put in at least 20 hours, I figure it is worth anyone's time.
