For what this game is - a retro fps - it's a perfectly good game that doesn't require all that much time. Decent action, kinda funny story, great gameplay.

I don't wash myself this much in real life.

Jokes aside, although this is just the start of the year, I don't see any other game dethroning KCD2. Game is gorgeous, packed with small mechanics that make it a joy to play, and the writing is superb. If I had to make any criticisms, it would be simply Capon is annoying and quests regarding him are annoying, combat is sometimes clunky, and lockpicking is too hard to start with.

Drova is really not a hard game to recommend, even though it has some glaring desing issues such as the third faction obviously not being fleshed out and quite a lot of unnecessary walking around the map.

Even with those, the game is pretty enjoyable, smallish rich map, decent story, enough roleplaying and an okay combat system is a great package for a story-driven indie RPG game that outshines even quite a few of AAA RPG attempts in the recent years.

20 years later and this game is still as lovely as the day it came out. If I had to pick one game to be the best game of all times, this one would be out there heavily competing for the title.

I really wanted this game to be a decent fantasy RPG getaway, but the amount of pretentiousness this game has itself is appaling. A lot of the game design choices are there just because the creators want to shoehorn into you an experience that's simply not good:

Fast travel limited -> so you can play a walking simulator while fighting the same mobs over and over again, while hiding the shallowness of the game map itself

Limited save features -> so you can suffer the bad decisions as well as the good ones, and so we can also hide how badly our quests are made

Dragon pawn plague -> what?

Along with very clunky menus, almost necessary mods to get this game to be playable on widescreens, there are very few redeeming features. The endgame itself is also pretty badly made and any move that you make other than powerplaying throgh can lock you out of certain events making you start over. Because - experience.

Edit: I watched the Punk Duck video. I find the game even more pretentious now, what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disrespect of the player's time.

Just a very calming idler sitting at the side until you want to give it some attention.

I think this game is worse in every concievable way from the first one, all the way from the mechanics to the story.

The story is something special though - the first game was a journey of self discovery and the discovery of a broken world.

The second part of the story is - flying immortal lesbians from space save Alloy from their own conciouseneses run attempting to destroy all worlds. What the ♥♥♥♥ were you smoking writing this?

Communities make or break games, and this community is probably one of the best I've ever seen. I'm glad Sony saw the error of their ways and I will gladly continue to support this game as long as the voices of the community are taken into consideration.

If you're looking for a D4 killer, this ain't it.

Might be a good game once it comes out of beta.

The game itself is a bit janky and frustrating, definitely not the tightest or best mechanics. What makes it truly a good game though is the community and the teamplay it requires.
