Not very realistic at all, however there's not many games out there that are similar.

Reminds me of a really ♥♥♥♥ call of duty with smaller maps, worse gunplay, and even less people in each game.

Early Access Review
First of all, the game is definitely worth the price.

UBOAT is a game where you control the actions of the crew of the Type VII U-96 in the early-mid stages of World War 2. This is game is incredibly detailed from the movement of the waves colliding with the uboat, to the multiple targeting systems around the uboat.

Detail:
The developers put massive detail into the game. Every valve, dial, even stitch of the bedding is in the game with incredible textures. For me, realistic physics of a game like this is a big part of my thoughts when deciding to purchase it. I can tell you first hand that the developers put a lot of time into physics of how the water reacts to the uboat slicing through the sea, to how ships react to a torpedo blowing a hole in the side.

Cinematic: As mentioned earlier, UBOAT has incredible textures. The day/night cycle along with dynamic weather give the experience a touch of realism like you’re actually traveling across the atlantic. With the bad weather comes swelling sea which may force you to dive below the surface. The game is tremendously beautiful when you’re sailing across the Atlantic with the sun flare beaming down on you. The dark rooms of the uboat with the red alarm lights offer an eerie experience, especially when depth charges are being dropped on your ass.

Developers: These developers are some of the best you can get! They are constant updating the game and fixing the bugs that are present.

As of early May, players are reporting several game breaking bugs and minor bugs, however they are actively being address by the developers. Though with these bugs, players are still having fun with the game.

Overall, UBOAT is an extremely good subsim that brings players back to the Silent Hunter 3 days, this being the game that will replace it in my opinion. Some people argue that UBOAT is not a simulator because of the fact that automatic TDC is a feature, however manual TDC is in fact a feature as well in the game. I fully support the developers and this game for full release in the future.

Yeah, just get it. Recommend Kaiserreich or Black Ice mods.

Early Access Review
First, I highly recommend this game to anyone that is intrested in realistic military shooters but does not want to enter into a full on mil sim game. Secondly, anything I say in this review may change as the game is in early access alpha.

Pros:
1. The graphics on the game are amazing along with the render distance.
2. Gameplay is smooth and dynamic as on each map there is both villages/cities and open fields/forests ect...
3. The number of people in a squad is good as there can exsacly be about 4-5 squads give or take on each team.
4. Many types of vehicles...Multiple types of technicals, LAVs, BTRs, BMPs, Humvees', and armoured transports and unarmoured.
5. Map size, the maps take around 30 minutes to cross on foot and about 5 minutes in vehicles.
6.Player scales, 50 people on each team...what can go wrong?
7. Rocket technical...Nothing more needs to be said.

Cons:
1. FPS drops in HEAVY combat. I have a well built computer but in heavy combat for instance taking fire from a BTR can bring my FPS down from 70 to 40 however THIS IS INFREQUENT and will not happen often.
2. Similar to con 1; you need a higher quality PC for this game, you can find card comparisons online for more info.
3. Very minor and will probably be fixed soon is the VERY small amount of flickering textures inside buildings. This is very minor and doesn't affect gameplay at all.
4. Amount of players in certain armoured vehicles. Some transport vehicles as the BTR/BMP can only fix 4 people which is less than half of the squad.

In total, this game is great if you have the PC for it. Also, this game REQUIRES a mic if you want to get the full experience. (and you want to.).

8/10 would buy for friends.

This game used to be a great title for almost anyone to get into. (((Used to be))) Now this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game is one of the worst failiures ever. The player base is next to nothing, so even if you did have very good internet connection like me, it still take you over 15 minutes to join a match...and thats on a good day. Each update, the game is becoming more of a PAY2WIN type of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game if there wasn't enough of those. The maps of the game have become way to small for a immersive 'space warship' battle. Bugs are frequent as the UI can flicker or disappear in all (rarely). The idea for this game was great until this ♥♥♥♥ came down.

The pros about this game are that the graphics are somewhat well done. Once again, the idea for this game is great.

In all, this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and don't invest your time or money in this game.
