It's a shame about the performance, but still one of the best games I've ever played. I was able to get stable playable FPS with a sixth gen i7 (lol) and 3070.

Characters were fun and inspiring, story was engaging, and the combat is a blast.

Had a lot of great little touches like fun side content, customization of clothing and gear, easter eggs, and constant updates to your hub world (That you can *somewhat* upgrade and improve as the story progresses).

Destiny is in a good spot with the seasonal releases and the tweaks made to armor and weapons. I've been having a blast with it, which is to say a lot considering Year 1 I got bored quickly. Huge recommend, though you are not getting the full experience out of free to play, which is unfortunate. You can, however, experience the aesthetic and gameplay at the very least.

Destiny 2 is a well-polished albeit expensive game, and it's definitely worth checking out if you're curious.

Pillars of Eternity is far and away one of my favorite games in this genre.

It’s lore and story are very fleshed out and it has the sign of any good RPG that has had a lot of effort put into it: lore books. So many lore books. A Skyrim’s dozen, which is actually hundreds.

Plenty of fully voiced lines. Fun companions, excellent turn-based combat, puzzles, goofs, gaffs, and plenty of selectable text to remind you what everyone’s talking about.

The only thing that ever irked me in this game was the text-based ship to ship combat. You can board the enemy ship and fight the crew but those fights felt very hollow to me. I never much cared for “just because” fights and the fights on the open sea got very stale very quickly for me.

This game is easily a 9/10.

CRPG people are a very specific breed so chances are, if you like the genre, you’ve played this or are planning to. If you’re new to the genre, Pillars of Eternity and Divinity: Original Sin are two great jumping off points!

If you like story games or Point And Clicks then you'll definitely enjoy this. It has quick time events for action sequences which aren't too difficult. The episodes are a little shorter than The Walking Dead, but I still enjoy them just as much. Great game~
