I'm tired of constantly changing my review back and forth from positive to negative to positive to negative. I'm tired of the team behind the game and I'm tired of the people who play it.

Hunt Showdown is a great game once you strip away how difficult the Crytek team makes to enjoy it.

This is genuinely the worst UI in any AAA title. The fact that 7 years into the game's development we went from one of the worst UIs ever to the actual worst UI ever is so embarrassing as a hunt fan and player. Every update from Crytek is titled "UPCOMING UI IMPROVEMENTS AND CHANGES" and then when you read the update the description is "*FIXED ISSUE WHERE CONTROLLERS COULDNT NAVIGATE WINDOW 5 OF PAGE 4 OF HUNTER EQUIPMENT"

I still can't believe this game has a console fanbase as the game has NEVER been functional or playable on console to a consistent degree from everything I've read since its console launch- making it even more confusing as to why the UI was designed around controller prompts. Reducing slots and unequipping items in general straight up takes 3 different clicks 2 different keys or just doesnt work at all.

I'm a solo hunter with more than 1500 hours of solo hunting. This game has never felt worse to play if you enjoy the solo experience. Crytek is of course to blame but alongside their ineptitude you have perhaps the least engaged playerbase of all time. People who play Hunt Showdown do everything in their power to Hunt and not to Showdown. I don't feel like this needs expanding on- watch any content creator talking about the SOTG and they're more or less making medium format videos about how bad the game is to play right now.

I hate the IP integrations, but voicing your opinion about how much you want to preserve the identity of hunt is the same as shouting into the void. The developers hate the game and just need to be paid. The players hate the game and just want to have fun.

Hunt Showdown is where nobody wins, regardless of who extracts.

One of the greatest games of the last century. A masterpiece unlike any other, putting Mario to absolute shame. The lore is deep and rewarding, with an incredible single player campaign and a time trial mode that makes Time Crisis look like grass growing simulator. The combat is intense and rewarding. I was saddened to see that Lyman would not be a playable character, and I hope to see the developers listen to fans of the series. I only have about 70 hours in this game but I have over 43000 hours invested in the garfield history and lore, and this game will appeal to Garfield addicts and hardcore racing fans alike.
