Welcome to Tomb Raider.
You play as Lara "The Tomb Raider" Raider.
Your mission: venture to Yamatai, a mystical Japanese land where ammunition is virtually limitless, pistol components are found in thousand year old tombs and none of the locals speak Japanese.
There you must destroy any ancient historical structure you find, and bring the local wildlife population to extinction.
But fear not, you came prepared. Armed with a Kevlar tank-top, an Adamantium laced skeleton and the most grime-resistant hair conditioner known to man, you will mow down indoctrinated cult followers with weapons legally distinct from Uncharted's arsenal.
Once you're done, kick back with your friends, a rag-tag group of racially diverse ruffians who all talk like the voice-acting director doesn't know what a second take is.
So what are you waiting for? There are tombs that have yet to be raided! Buy this game today!

A unique and creepy little point-and-click adventure game that was made by two people , which is amazing. The playable character Fran Bow is a likeable protagonist, she feels believable as a child who is so psychologically damaged that both reality and unreality are accepted at face value. You can click on almost everything and hear Fran's twisted perspective on the subject.

I think the biggest hurdle to get over is the technical limitations.
The artwork of the game is lovingly drawn and has a good "personality", but it's at a microscopic 854 x 480 native resolution and does not upscale. I played in windowed mode at half my monitors resolution just so the images wouldn't be so blown out. The frame rate is also capped at 30fps and there is no voice acting at all, unfortunately.
For a game that was released in 2015 it's a bit baffling at how janky it feels; luckily the strong gameplay and story make up for it.

All in all this is a great game despite it's graphical limitations, in fact, I think if this game were to have a remake/remaster in the vein of Grim Fandango or Day of the Tentacle, with sharper graphics and implemented voice acting, it would have a renaissance and a whole lot more people could enjoy this hidden gem.

Buy full price if you love point-and-clicks, otherwise pick this game up on sale!

Short and sweet. Refreshing to play a such a concise and straight-forward game that doesn't overstay its welcome. If you've played any game from the 2010s you'll ease right into Plague Tale, as many familiar mechanics such as crafting and stealth are in the mix. The Story and setting is probably the biggest draw, with characters that don't feel so 1-dimensional.
Also the best thing for me personally is that achievements are reasonable to obtain (no "kill X enemies only using Y weapon" kind of thing) as well as chapter-select. Every easy and fun to 100% complete.

I'd say base price is pretty steep. at $55 aud at time of review. Wait for this game to go on sale and then buy it for a fun rodent-filled experience.

A lot of people have already pointed out the many fun aspects of this game.
I suppose I just want to point out (especially as a newcomer to the franchise) that the detail in this game goes above and beyond the call of duty. The playable space you inhabit isn't very large, but it has uranium levels of density.

To a casual player you might scratch the surface of some game-play elements; the real estate business, the cabaret business, the minigames. But if you take the time to look into them, as I have, you will find levels of depth you might not have seen in any other game.

An example of this is if you go into any convenience store, you can examine the magazine racks and view maybe about a dozen scanned in real life Japanese magazines from the era, and an explanation about what that magazine was about. There is no reason to do this, there is no achievement or checklist requirement to do this, it's not even something you might stumble upon in a casual playthrough, but it's there, just to add flavour and world-feel.

And there are tens, maybe even hundreds of examples of this in Yakuza 0. That's why it's worth your time. You should care, because the game cares. And I loved all 200 hours of it.

So yes, if you are on the fence, BUY THIS GAME AND PLAY IT!!!

50% rouge-like
50% visual-novel
100% amazing soundtrack

I quite enjoy the rouge-like genre so Hades was a refreshing change of pace by having such depth with the dialogue tree stuff. So many characters to talk to, all of whom react to things you've done and others you've spoken to in a really seamless and sophisticated way. Combat is highly reliant on skill and twitch reflexes, and the art style is also a cut-above.

If you're a fan of games like Binding of Isaac, Enter the Gungeon or Risk of Rain 2, like I am, you'll enjoy this one too.

Worth a full price buy I'd say.

A nice little narrative game that's good for one playthrough. Worth buying on sale.

The one thing I will give this game is it has an extremely robust commentary mode that has the devs talking though the entire game. Very insightful. Except they are all potentially miss-able and there's no way to re-listen part from restarting the entire game which is lame.

Also there is no Bigfoot content or Bigfoot romance dialogue options so just go into the game knowing that, unlike me.

I enjoyed the game probably due to pure Stockholm Syndrome.

It actually gets easier the more you play it, and it can feel quite rewarding to blast through an area that once frustrated you so much. This game isn't for everyone, but it's quite an enjoyable challenge for those who seek it.

Narration was quite nice too.

I can definitely say I don't think I've played anything like it. Quite short but certainly worth the experience. Very easy to 100% achievements too so that's nice.

For the price, this is an insanely good game.

It has a fun concept that pulls you in, and original /scary enemies to keep you interested. I just wish I hadn't over-saturated the game to myself by watching countless YouTube playthoughs. I think if you go into this game blind, and you like horror games, you'll have a great time. Fantastic DLC too.

Just don't try to 100% the achievements, like me, unless you want to absolutely drain all scariness this game has.

Reguardless, a fantastic indie horror game that you should definitely pick up.
