A very cute city planner game! If you're a fan of city planners and cute things, this is a very good pick up! Especially at the price it is. A very short game, about 3-5 hours (I left my PC on with this running for about 3 hours), and 100%ing it is pretty easy too!!

Definitely recommend picking this up.

i honestly wish there was a "not sure" option for reviewing on steam because i honestly would give this one my "mixed" review.

it's a good game when it wants to be, the "main" characters are enjoyable, and i honestly love the dynamic between V and Johnny, as well as a lot of the other cast delving deeper into night city and into the story.

i don't say the story because, well... the story seems like it's still in alpha mode, like they're not sure what to do, especially at the end. whereas i understand it's an rpg where you're in control, and they need to have set dialogue responses for the sake of budgetting and not making this game any more complicated than it already is, it feels weird that sometimes you're agreeing with a character and then the other option they're like "actually no i hate you now", but maybe that's just me. i get big "Glass Him" vibes from some of the dialogues.

i say at the end of the story as well, because it feels like the main story is FORCING you actually to go down the "worse" ending (i say worse because at the moment i've played 4/5 of the endings) rather than some of the better ones. the arasaka ending seems to be forced down your throat from the get go, especially if you don't do a lot of the side quests, and honestly that ending felt super empty in comparison to the one where johnny goes into arasaka with rogue. i like to play main story first then side quest, but i honestly recommend doing side quests before this story, it makes the story much better.

do i like the story? sure. i like the characters, and a lot of the time the story is pretty good and strong, its just at the end i have an issue with. it really does feel like they're just setting up some extra dlc, which... i don't think is a good thing.

i have to real as well. i don't think this game is all that difficult. i played normal and sure i've died a few times during missions, but a lot of the time your quests want you to stealth into hostile territory, but if you get spotted (sometimes inevitable with some of the bugs in this game) you can easily recover, and it's not really detrimental to the game play. i think you just lose some street cred, but that is easily recoverable after doing some extra gigs/side quests.

as for bugs? well i've come across a few but nothing gamebreaking at the moment. few visual bugs which caused me to save and reload, but nothing too extensive. i think playing on a 3080 and a few months after the original release probably adds to that.

the city and graphics are amazing as well, and i love the atmosphere of the city. it's immersive and fun to run around in, but of course the bugs take you out of the immersion and you end up with a pedestrian stuck in your car ocassionally.

tl;dr: the story is a bit iffy, but the characters are good. the atmosphere of the scenery is good. not all that difficult (on normal mode) and not many bugs.

would i recommend it? at full price, probably not. but on sale? i'd say go for it.

if you can handle a VERY slow start with the story only really kicking in about 20 hours into the game or so then this game is honestly one of the best out there. the controls are all very enjoyable. not to mention it's by kojima so you know it's good.

Early Access Review
Probably the first rogue-like game I've actually enjoyed and can't stop playing. Don't let the Early Access tag throw you off, this is a real solid game.

It doesn't feel like a grind every time you die and go back to the start, because there's new stuff to be found at the starting hub. I've had to refrain from killing myself during some runs solely so I could go back and speak to some of the NPCs about some stuff I've come across during my runs. With every run you also get stronger and find yourself unlocking more stuff to help you in your run. There's a "talent tree" you can put some currency you get in your runs and eventually you'll get strong enough that the floors you struggle on are a breeze. (In my experience at least).

The controls and how the main character moves is very fluid, and he responds beautifully to the inputs (I am playing on a controller). Not to mention some of the power ups you get during your runs make the movement a lot more smoother (such as extra dashes).

This should go without saying for a Supergiant game, but the dialogue and story are top notch as well. I haven't completed the story yet (at time of writing) but even before then I don't think there's a character I actively dislike, and find myself snorting at some of the dialogue from the main character or player characters.

I got this for £15 on sale, and it was an absolute STEAL.

When I first saw this game come out, I was quite hesitant on the price-tag and whether I would actually enjoy the game, but after it being recommended to me and reading some of the reviews, I decided to buy it.

And I've been having fun to say the least. There hasn't been many games which have made me stay up until 4am-8am consistently, and when playing the game you lose track of time. I'm currently twenty-four hours in, and no where complete with the missions and/or collecting all the dinosaur ginomes, heck, I've not even unlocked all of the islands yet (there being five islands in total.)

If you like Jurassic Park or Jurassic World, you'll love this game.
