People are blowing things well out of proportion. Yes, the UI needs work. We can all agree to that. However, their mindset was "People don't finish Civ games". That's how the whole game is design around. In MP, after each crisis, you go back to the lobby, choose a new civ and viollaaa new age and a whole new set of objectives and resources. If you can't play any longer or don't like the lobby, collect your rewards and move on.

This allows people to play certain ages or all three and have a fighting chance. Bad start? Well in the new age you can turn everything around with a civ that actually turns your bad start into a fighting chance. No more Roman Legionaries destroying WW2 tanks.

The way it's done is super immersive and fun. The game does not deserved to be review bombed just because you want Ghandi with nukes or you're complaining that the UI needs a rework.

Would I recommend this? Yes. If you liked Humankind, the civ system will be right up your alley.

End of the day it's your hard earned dollar. Judge it for yourself. Don't listen to one sentence Andy's because they're stuck in the past or calling it a switch 2 game.

EDIT: After completing my first multiplayer game through all ages and ended up winning with Project Ivy, a lot of the issues people have can be fixed with a UI update. One example is when you choose an ideology, no where does it state you're locked in for that choice. A simple tooltip could fix that.

I stand by my recommendation at this time.

It's a fun game. Battles are great, the card system is fun and the art is just beautiful.

However. While I can recommend this game, the 4x element to it, the building of bases, AI and AI camps and heroes from all 3 factions need balancing. A lot of it. They also need to rework how to obtain heroes. Sure, 1/2 Skirmish wins, not a big deal but the 75 STOLEN loot chests? Goodluck. Not unless you 1v1 a friend and just steal from each other.

AI will literally sit in the same spot for the entire game if you're a crusade player. Thousand Armies? They will constantly take back cities you just took instantly. Crusade doesn't need to worry about.

Heroes are either so good or so bad. A 2/2 Thousand Army Paladin is grossly under powered vs a 2/2 Crusade hero.

Healing from moment to moment needs a buff. Unless you got lucky and got a healing card from a hero or from the city level up (because its random) you may struggle with keeping up with everyone. Healing is so slow. Even then, when a heal card pops up, it competes with other strong cards and feels so lame to toss them away never to see them again.

It's clear they pushed out the 1.0 without balancing in mind. The polish is really good and while I understand why, it makes the first impression harder to enjoy when so many things are just not balanced and it makes it even harder to stay when everything is set up for your failure if you're trying something new or rolling the dice.

Would purchase as a sale product. Not full price as of 1.0.

Minute to minute gameplay is a lot of fun. Gun sounds are awesome. Guns feel way better. Everything has a good weight to it. You get to ride a helo. AI worked great so far. Just good fun and I'm looking forward to the anomaly stuff down the line. (radios are your first clue). Also, not sure but I had less gear fear in this game than in Tarkov. Not sure if it's because for the first town it's just you and allies (maybe a TK in the mix lol) but you can gear up quite well without feeling like each death is set back.

If you're even half of a PC enthusiast you can run this game. Expecting to run 2k/4k on full with 60+ frames on a 1660s, 1080, 20 series is just plain nonsense. I have a mid tier rig, 3060 and 3700x, I config'd and played with the settings and I got 60 frames solid in town and 90 in the jungle on med/high. Keep in mind, this is UE5. I can't imagine how the people would react if Crisis came out again. Back then, if you couldn't run it, you upgraded. And while this game is EA and needs QOL, it's miles ahead from any launch EA extraction shooter.

If you still can't get over it not being perfect. Refund it. Wait 6 months. Then rebuy and post on reddit about how wrong you were or something.

It's just not stable to even recommend. Players with high end PC's are barely able to reach 30 frames. I suggest waiting untill a fix is made to this bad port.
