Although "citybuilder roguelike" seems like a dumb idea on paper, it plays surprisingly great.

Recently I bought Anno 1800 to scratch that citybuilder itch, and after winning first scenario and starting another one I've realized "I already played it, that's it". Every map will start the same, have samey midgame and bring me to the same endgame goals that I need to fulfill. AtS on the other hand will give you some puzzle pieces of the 3 different jigsaws, way more than you need for you to make some sense of it in the beginning, never enough to fill the whole picture, but just the right ammount for you to make it from the start to the finish.

It's up to you to figure where the exit is, fill in the gaps in the road with available pieces and finish just enough of the jigsaw picture for the Queen to leave you alone. And the path to do so is rarely the same.

Amazing replayability (227 hours in) and I still have 4 seals to close and Queen's Trial to complete.
