Gameplay is also awful. Win = leave, Lose = leave. Tekken 8 ranked removed infinite rematches. Plugging is unpunished for the most part making getting high ranks easy. Everyone has been turnt into a rushdown character, making them easier to play and to just unga-bunga through matches. Azucena and Victor players are stroking themselves, playing with 1 hand, while your opponent has to do hand gymnastics to dodge and react to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Someone can literally knowledge check you for 2 rounds and you're done.

Core essence of older tekkens has been thrown out the window, movement/defensive play nerfed and aggressive spamming rewarded heavily.

Community overall is toxic. A "get good" mentality is festered in an admittedly hard to learn and now an unbalanced nightmare of a game. Usually the players that say that have inflated their ranks by abusing overtuned characters. If its not "get good" then its "learn the matchup". They don't know a single matchup in the game

Customization is lacking even by tekken 7 standards. Old stuff is now being sold in a battlepass and all new cosmetics will come through the store.

Reina seemed cool when she was announced, but turned out to be ongodly annoying as a character. Her personality and voice becomes grating after the first time around.

Story was overall good. Spoiler: Harada said that the Mishima storyline ends with Tekken 8, but seeing Reina become the new bad (also her devil design is horrible), means it will still drag on. I have a feeling we will lose Kazuya as we have lost Heihachi, and the game designers are going for a more coomer centered cast. Arcade seems out of place. Avatar customization items are also in the battlepass, making it filler and encouraging lazy pass design.

Will check back in a few years. Another case of preorder funding going nowhere, well not anywhere into the game atleast.

With or without modding, infinite replayability.

A really good game. Going to go get the other games and play them aswell.
