Like that TV Show you loved that got cancelled far too soon, that weird thing you love irrationally and recommend to people knowing a lot of them are going to bounce off of it immediately.

What Frostpunk does so well is establishing tone, something that I don't think many games in this genre even attempt. From the start it feels oppressive, depressing, the atmosphere and sound design set the stage amazingly well. I honestly don't believe it's that deep or interesting of acity builder, much of it in fact feels incredibly restrictive. But it manages to do so many small things that other games in this genre have never tried and succeeds, and that alone makes it special.

I adore the first game, it is what got me into the 4x genre, it felt simple enough to get into but still had some depth to it. This one, however, in both a technical and design standpoint, is a complete mess. I wasn't expecting to be blown away by a sequel but its so unfortunate that it has ended up inferior in every single way compared to the first game.

The Ghostbusters 3 we deserve.

Uplay has ruined a great game. The DRM here is so intrusive and broken that I literally cannot get past the main menu, and the DLC I paid money for will not work because everytime I try to activaite it, it tells me I have to reboot. I reboot the game, and then a pop up appears telling me I need to reboot to activaite the DLC. Rinse and repeat.

A wonderful, creative little RTS/City Building game ruined by Ubisoft's greed.

Clunky, poorly designed, visually uninteresting. Really the only thing this game does is make you ask why you are even playing this when you could watch the movie or read the comic.

Literally my favorite game of all time, and is the reason I got a Steam account in the first place.

A bit buggy in places, but still a blast from top to bottom.

Not a fan of this game at all. It felt frustrating more than anything else, enemies spawning right on top of you as you try and run around, terrible story, and in my opinion outdated shooting mechanics.

Having said that, I fully realize that part of this is that I just don't "get" it. I never played the original, and I was raised in the era of modern shooters. This game is just a bit too old school for me. Don't let me deter you from checking it out.
