Kind of a fusion between a shooter and a team fighting game. Super fun competitive game, not as twitchy as most other games of a 3rd person multiplayer genre, and very simple to pick up.

The main modes are focused on casual teamplay in Street Play or the competitive League Play. Street Play has a bundle of modes focused on getting a group of anyone together to pass the ball around and hit targets with special balls or teammates who form up into a ball. The coin matches are kind of an oversight, as a game can be over in an instant if one team manages to KO the right targets off the bat or force a team wipe. The other modes are basically the core of the game. League Play has a standard 3v3 format with one "special ball" selected and another 1v1 face-off mode. Currently, queueing for matches in certain brackets of skill can be frustrating, since there's no decay down to a lower rank until a long season ends; this can create a problem of newer players down the line having long queue times compared to those with higher ranks. The 1v1 mode is even worse, with queue times reaching 5 or more minutes at ANY skill level. If there were better incentives to play each mode, these issues may be fixed, but as it stands, the game funnels you into standard game modes due to the lackluster play or queue lengths.

The gameplay stands out. Anyone who likes competitive and thinking gameplay will get a kick out of it. Anyone who just wants to throw a ball around and pass to teammates will also have some fun.

Locking onto targets is confusing, as sometimes you may throw the dodgeball to a distant target or someone you don't anticipate, or just not fire at a target at all. Those will probably addressed in patches. The game is relatively new at this point, so it's very likely that the playerbase will inform devs about some inconsistencies that come up and ruin the

Somewhat addictive roguelike game. Topdown, Bullet-Hell, tons of fun.

The older legacy version is what I played the most, which involved a LOT of pay to win elements. Those are mainly the ability to unlock character slots, bank slots for storing valuable items like Stat Boosts or Untiered (UT) and high tier (T12+). The other pay to win aspect is that players can purchase any item, pet food to increase the potency of a pet (another aspect that needs to be discussed in detail), keys for unlocking dungeons at will to seek out a desired set of items or stat boosters, and so on. Basically anything in the game was purchasable, but that didn't ruin the fun for people who had limited funds and could get a simple character and vault chest bundle when those went on sale.

The silliest aspect of this game by far is PETS. You can find eggs in various realms dropped from some monsters, and in order to maximize these pets, you had to feed them items, the most potent of which was Untiered gear or purchasable pet food items like Ambrosia in order to make abilities like Heal or Magic Heal reasonable to use for sustaining your character... and YES, if you didn't have those two abilities in that order followed by something like Paralyze, you have an ineffective pet.

Every character after reaching lvl 20 has the ability to max out stats with certain rare (or guaranteed from certain dungeon bosses) droppable potions, with given classes having better max stats than others along with their unique abilities. There's a lot of varying gameplay through each of the classes. Overall, there's a lot of fun to be had, especially with a group of friends.

Permadeath can be frustrating, as a lot of players who don't have extra character slots or vault chests need to spend a long time grinding back up to a reasonable point with levels and stat buffs in order to feel comfort taking on the harder dungeons and bosses in the game.
