A classic crpg.
The main feature of this edition is UI scaling, which makes it playable in modern resolutions.

A 3rd game in a series, still fun.
The new side-scroller like exploration mechanic doesn't add much & a waste of resources better used elsewhere, still, the core atmosphere, story & overall gameplay are there.

One of the most immersive political stratagy games I've played. Instead of moving pieces on the board & micromanaging various systems as some kind of a faceless omnipotent overlord, like in pretty much any other game of the genre, in this one you assume a role of a President. And are going to do what a real president does - communicate with all kind of people & make decisions, which are severely limited but the complex government structure. And then see your country, family & friends fail - who said it's going to be an easy job.

Was sceptical at first, but unlike all previous attempts to resurrect JA, this one fully deserves to be called one. It does almost everything JA2 did, and some if it it does even better. While far from perfect, if you enjoyed the original JA2, this one is certainly worth a play.

p.s. Keep in mind that just like its predecessors, JA3 is inspired by the cheesy action movies of th '80s-90s, so don't expect it to be very serious or dramatic.

- Great exploration, map design is very 3d for an isometric game;
- Beautiful graphics, great facial animations;
- Combat is ok if a bit easy on normal, D&D 5 is less fun than 3.5 though;
- Story is slow and kind of mediocre, you're lurking random bushes & caves with a bunch of weirdos trying to find out what's going on and that is actually the best part of the game;
- Feels more like Divinity 3 than Baldur's Gate 3, the atmosphere is barely there;
- All companions are GAY;
- Instead of male/female switch you have to set 4 (FOUR) weirdly labled parameters in different menus to set your character gender;
- The "evil" branch is somewhat dumb and not presented well;
- While not particulary buggy, there are plenty of discrepancies and loose ends due to cut content and plot edits, despite being in early access for years;
- Ok game but obviously overrated.
