The game just stopped launching after anniversary update. For a $10 AAA game this is just completely unacceptable
UPD(27.12.2024): the game doesn't even start and shows black screen. It can't be killed by any means other than reloading PC. Fire all diversity hires

Pay-to-win, very inadequately high priced weaboo piece of ♥♥♥♥ with the worst UI and controls I have ever seen in PC games

It's almost as great as minecraft, but also:

• Have very beautiful, smooth, non-rectangular world. If you show this game to someone who didn't play it yet, he probably wouldn't believe it's fully destructible world
  
• Have basic physics. You can't build very unrealistic structures
  
• Much better textures
  
• Very interesting, hardcore gameplay with well implemented survival elements that can be improved further with numerous of community made mods
  
• Pretty good leveling system and other roleplay mechanics, probably inspired by Skyrim/Fallout
  
• Pretty good as a horror game
  
• Highly customizable gameplay settings
  
• Much cheaper

I absolutely recommend this game, it's in my top 10 favorite games list. However, there are some drawbacks as well, unfortunately:

• Water really sucks, especially in terms of physics
  
• Performance sucks, especially with many light sources/electrical devices
  
• Latest alphas(16-19) added many unrealistic things that absolutely makes no sense like elixir from coins and acid, pills from rotten flesh, stew from rotting flesh, etc (along with many really great features, though). Also last updates overall seems like taking "balance over realism and logic" approach
  
• Developers abusing some of their own newly added mechanics like ability to paint textures on surface and choose shapes for some blocks. For example, instead of crafting separate furniture elements like in old versions, you now craft some generic furniture and then choosing concrete instance through shape menu which is very confusing and stupid. Also you would often find some blocks that appear wooden but in reality are concrete and vice-versa.
  
• In steam, you can't downgrade game to earliest alphas (below 8) if you want some nostalgia
  
• Developers keeps removing really cool features from previous versions for no apparent reason! Here is short list of features they removed from the top of my head:
  • Really cool HUD from first alphas with all essential information including hunger and thirst. Now you need to open menu to see your hunger and thirst levels!
    
  • Wellness system. It was really great mechanic which motivated you to die as rare as possible, prevented you from committing suicide in order to get rid of some heavy debuffs and just were making gameplay much more interesting and fun. Now you often better committing suicide instead of curing your character which is really stupid and unimmersive and don't have long-term rewards for eating good food and vitamins
    
  • Skyrim-like skills system, where you increase skill by doing activities governed by this skill. Now if you for example want to play archer, you are still better to start with sledgehammer (objectively the best weapon at the start of the game) and don't use bow until you invest some perks in it, which is very stupid, annoying and absolutely makes no sense.
    
  • Smells system
    
  • Complex and interesting smelting system with clay moulds for melting
    
  • Complex smiting system where all complex weapons and tools were composed of parts, each with its own integrity indicator. And you had to find a blueprint first in order to craft many of them
    
  • Separate clay and dirt blocks
    
  • Where were no ore veins right on the surface. Finding ore was pretty hard but much more rewarding activity
    
  • Harvesting and looting dead zombies
    
  • Giant hornets, and houses with giant honeycombs, really loved them
    
  • Different types of meat from different animals and different recipes for each of them
    
  • Many cool zombies like decayed lady (the one with red dress)

Many of the above features can be returned by community mods though, but it still sucks. Dear developers, if you are reading this review by any chance, then please, PLEASE FOR GODS SAKE STOP REMOVING COOL FEATURES FROM YOUR GAME AND RETURN BACK FEATURES YOU ALREADY REMOVED! THANKS!


UPD: Don't recommend to by it on steam though, as it'll be force updated with each update. You can downgrade manually after that, but that's still very annoying...

A ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game that is being sold to you under the guise of the good name of the TES series. And this is both from a TES fan and MMORPG enjoyer perspective. PVE sucks, PVP sucks even more, all progress in this game is pretty much meaningless thanks to scaling system. There is no atmosphere and immersion, which is one of the most strongest sides of TES series. Combat system with five abilities and switching between them is just awful and looks like it was designed for mentally disabled people. No gameplay changing mods of course, which is the main TES games feature IMHO. It absolutely doesn't feel as part of TES series overall as well. The whole gameplay is 95% stupid grinding, I would only recommend this game if you want to just kill your time. Totally doesn't costs it's money.
Btw, don't mind that I only have 10 hours played, I have other account not on steam where I have played this ♥♥♥♥ much more.

UPD: also, lookup their last privacy agreement update (January 1st, 2021). This is simply beyond any bounds of decency

The game itself is just great (especially for it's price), but online is VEEERY low, even during sales, and community is very toxic and unpleasant. And despite low online, rules on most servers are very strict and cucked. I was in top 10 players but still was banned from most popular servers just for cursing my stupid team, that's just insane!

Total piece of ♥♥♥♥ made by diversity hires. Inferior to original CS GO in literally every single aspect. They also just removed all achievements. Genious, nuff said
