I like it. It's hard to point at one thing and say that's the reason, everything comes together so well. The open world design, sandbox systems, story, pacing, actor performance, and all spiced with just the right amount of Kojima Quirkiness (peeing mechanic, really?). All in all, I find that I don't want to get off this ride.

What a great collection. The old games are seamlessly remastered, a ton of secrets for collectors, and a beautiful, epic farewell to the series to top it all of, all bundled up in one great package, Had a ton of laughs, and even shed a couple of unexpected tears.

Great game. Reminds me of the structure of From Software games. Of course it's intended for a more general audience, so its deaths are more forgiving and bosses are simpler. I play on second hardest difficulty and some enemies give me trouble, at least at first, but that just give me drive to get stronger. The level design is great, with great vistas and crisscrossing pathways and shortcuts. Overall I greatly recommend it.

I only had some trouble with unpredictable stutters, until i traced the reason back to my bluetooth controller losing signal momentarily. After using a cable to connect it, the stutters disappeared completely.

What a great game.
The DROD series is, as someone else put it, a Fantasy RPG that is actually a puzzle game. But how the two mix is the best part. The puzzle is how to kill all the monsters on the screen, just by moving your character and turning your sword (which takes 8 moves for a full rotation). Every monster has a deterministic ai, and moves after your turn, so the puzzle is positioning yourself and pointing the sword the right way so you don't get caught in the back. There is an amazing variety in the puzzles, which I believe is thanks to the RPG theme, since clearing a new room feels fresh even if sometimes you're using the same tricks.

Gunthro and the Epic Blunder is the best entry in the series to start with. Some might be tempted to start with King Dugan's Dungeon, which is the original DROD (and is available as DLC for this game). However, that game has minimal story, and some puzzle designs are lacking, since it was a first try for the designers at making DROD puzzles. GatEB has an intriguing story that motivates progress, fun AND aesthetically pleasing puzzle rooms, and a non-linear way to clear it. Even though it is the fourth DROD game, it's the easiest, so best for beginners, the story is a Prequel, so no prior knowledge of story is needed, and if you buy it on steam, the first three games, along with 12 bonus stories, are available as DLC.
Can't recommend enough.

Easily an A++ rating from me.

This is the ultimate version of the flash game that elevated the "Satisfyingly Difficult" platformer genre (think Super Meat Boy). The game controls perfectly, and every death feels justified and fair. The level design of all the 2000++ official levels is pixel (vector?) perfect, and if you somehow manage to finish them all AND all optional challenges for each there's a level editor and level browser so you never have to stop playing. Finally, the visual style is simple and slick and doesn't get boring thanks to a ton of unlockable palettes.

++ If you're one of those challenge junkies that loves to overcome extremely hard obstacles (like Veni Vidi Vici from VVVVVV), this game is probably your wet dream.

++ Do you think you're the best and want the world to know? Global leader boards for every single level! (including user submitted!)

++ If you like casual platforming, don't worry, there's still plenty for you to do here, not every single level is super difficult. The learning curve is actually really good, where you can replay earlier levels and feel how you've gained more skill.

So collect some gold and buy this game. Oh, and watch out for the evil ninja behind y-

Early Access Review
As an amateur programmer, this game is amazing. As a Spacechem/puzzle fan, this game is amazing. As a total nerd, this game is amazing.

The amount of maps is astounding. It does not stop being fun trying a completely new map, so the developer has made sure you never ever run out. They are all very diverse and I am probably never going to finish even just the premade maps.
