Hard AF but very rewarding if you take the time to learn basic orbital mechanics.

This game has plenty to do. Each day, you'll spend crafting your cards, upgrading abilities, and leveling up character relationships before heading out on missions. The Abbey grounds are massive with plenty of mysteries to solve. The customization for the Hunter is great and, even without premium (micro-transaction) skins, you can alter Marvel hero costumes, colors, and hangout clothes.

Most importantly, the combat is great. The comparison to XCOM is inevitable but I would say it is more reminiscent of Chimera Squad. The battle areas are small so don't expect stealth or cover systems. The fun is in juggling card plays and environmental attacks to maximize the damage and KOs. Every punch, spell, and blast is absolutely brutal. Punches/shoves crunch foes. Sword attacks send people flying. A photon beam from Capt Marvel in Binary Mode feels brutal.

The only caveat I'd give is that you must have some interest at minimum in Marvel characters to enjoy this game. The dialogue is straight out of hokey comics aimed at younger audiences; it's hard enough as a fan to avoid cringing at times so I don't think it would win over anyone suffering from Marvel fatigue in entertainment today.

A really cool pirate experience but I recommend having friends to play with or join the discord. Avoid open crew multiplayer.
