Rust is a game that requires time. I understand the recoil change was made to cater to newer players and make more money for face punch, but the way i see it the game is just as demanding. Old recoil patterns made fight dependent on skill and practice, positioning was still very important, but not as much as it was now. If you were like me and played this game competitively you practiced, and you got good. The community rust had before the combat update was one that valued pvp as well as loot, rust was a game where skill ruled all. I remember 1v4's and 2v6's where I would come out on top because I had 1 superior recoil control, and 2 better game sense. But now that has changed.

The recoil change made bad players ok and good players ok for the most part, whether modded or vanilla I've noticed a shift in the player base. People font care about pvp. There are seldom roamers, and the amount of roof campers I've ran into has doubled or even tripled. Rust is no longer in it's prime and that sucks to be honest. We are in a world of one grid warriors and farmbots using the tech tree system. groups rule servers with an iron fist, leaving little to no solo play.

Face punch has killed its veteran playerbase and killed solo play.
