I'm seeing all the negative reviews of a few people claiming to be running 4090s/i9s, 64GB DDR5 @6400MHz and not getting good frames. My PC runs it fine, no stutters, triple digit frames. So I wanted to test it.

Dusted off an spare PC, 2070 super, i7-9700K, 32GB DDR4 @3200MHz. Runs in dungeons/cities above 60, runs outside just under at medium settings. No real stutters to speak of.

If the 2070 is able to pull of a decent enough gaming experience, these people are either lying, or more likely, aren't cooling, updating, maintaining their hardware properly, or improperly clocked / not adequate PSU and throttling themselves. Then there are people listing specs with a 4080/90, a CPU from over 5 years ago, a few gigs of RAM, wondering why they have stutters.

This DLC is NOT the X4 experience. It isn't the open world sandbox, but instead a collection of leader board focused timed missions loosely tied together by the worst writing acted by AI.

It would be fine as a standalone DLC, but the fact that you HAVE to slough through some of the most boring and busy-work missions to actually unlock the stuff you PAID for and use it in the actual game might as well be criminal. There needs to be a very large warning that you can not play a normal game with content from this DLC unless you play through 7 hours (if the AI works) of the most generic, mind numbing content imaginable. The fact that the AI acting is so atrocious is just another miss.

The game is not designed to be rewarding. Just look at a Q&A a bit ago, they flat out said that some tech tree vehicles broke even, and had to make that worse.

For those wondering, in War Thunder, you pick a nation in ground, air, or water vehicles. You then play matches starting around inter-war period/early WW2. For actions taken during the match, you get an in game currency called Silver Lions (SL) that you use to buy upgrades and new vehicles. Each vehicle has a % modifier for a reward, and each costs SL to repair.

It used to be that you could get 1 or 2 kills and cover the repair cost of your tank. Very slowly, over the course of many updates, it has now come to the point where, in some top tier outside of Russian tanks, you need 8 or so kills to cover the repair cost of a single tank alone, forget about saving up the millions of SL it will take to buy the new vehicle you researched and crew it.

The game used to be playable, but these days it actively fights you. I can not recommend anyone currently get into the game. It is a far cry from where it used to be, and since the 'Special Operation' of certain country, a lot of funky stuff happened in this Russian made game. There are proven errors that the devs refuse to even acknowledge, clear coded bias, and chat bans when said country suffers a major real world loss.

Strange.
