Early Access Review
This game is a great take on the genre, and the developers have been providing a lot feed back, and I'm excited to see how it finishes being built

How does this game has such good reviews? Like... it seems like every single person loves this and the it feels... 'nintendo hard' it's a cute zelda style cat game.. and yet enemies feel like I'm always a couple mistakes away from instant death. I played regularly for a while, did the quests at or under my level kept getting told I probably wasn't prepared for the next fight :/ only to have over leveled by like 10 levels. I invested in equipment, which uses kind of a terrible gacha mechanic so you just spam hopping to get the items you actually use to level up, and also leveled up my spells and it honestly doesn't feel like it made me end fights sooner but no matter where I changed my focus it still felt like I was only ever a couple hits away from death so why bother putting anything in health or armor when raw damage will end fights, and you just need to not make mistakes. It just ended up being not fun, I ended up using cheat engine [yes in a single play game] to hack the gold and just abuse the gacha mechanics and get super OP items to experience the game... and you know what my experience was... it made no difference... like I don't know if it's just some silly scaling happening or if this is just by design? I really want to like this game and I just can't really bring myself to do that it's just frustrating instead of fun, so I'm gonna set it down and walk away, I was looking forward to playing through the series because it looked cute.

Early Access Review
I love this, it's fun. My main issue here is some what personal in that I prefer a more rogue-lite approach. Apart from that, the upgrade system feels kind of bad. Like dead cells does a bit too, at some point unlocking things feels like just a bad proposition. It just thins the drop pool with items... and there are 0-2 equipment chances each level.. which kinda feels bad. The curse system is great, and feels like a good number of options and quite a few ways to gain them diving down. Main issue I guess is just feeling bad when you unlock things isn't a great feel :( That said this is early access, I never felt it was unfair, and movement felt good, I think it's definitely on it's way to being a very excellent thing.

If you will observe the hours played. I am a general fan of visual novels but this one is hands down fantastic. I want more of it. The characters are all well put together and believable.

It's free, if you want a nice story, maybe even romance give it a play. I can't believe the quality of content this developers put into this game considering the price point.

Critique:
Alright now the bad bits:
TL;DR;I want more, god just give me more of everything.

I love that you have so many customization options for MC but it matters very little in the game apart from a few call outs. This is understandable but an example of potential here would be there a re a couple dress up options, and it doesn't restrict your dress up options based on your preferred clothing options. I have not attempted a scenario where I attempted to wear something very divergent from what was typical so there might be some line some where. However it was the most generally disappointing part is the lack of attention paid to the options given. Please correct me if I'm wrong here and I missed something. I'd complain about not seeing MC in scenes since I get the art asset and seriously it's an 8 dollar game, that you don't even have to pay 8 dollars for unless you want all the content. I have a hard time holding it against them with the budget involved.

General lack of romance options aside from cove, but this is sort of the entire point of the game is specifically about your relationship with Cove so it's really just me being upset because I want even more of this content.

There is one scenario, the Errand Scenario in Stage 3... it has a few charming moments but in general it just kind of feels sloppy, mostly just stands in contrast to all the phenomenal content in the game other wise.

This game has been detrimental to my sleep schedule, the vignette style makes just consuming one more vignette really tempting, I need to sit down for a bit.. I can get through a section... pretty quick....

I've played some more, my problem might initial problems might have been user error. Ran into some game play glitches and one crash. Numerous graphical ticks, mostly background objects deciding they want to be front and center, and fog/steam deciding to be where it has no rightful place to be. Also dum dum followed me around after the mission and could be used to complete the first boxing match very easily. Since he just killed the opponent. He went away once even his extra fire power didn't safe me from a jam, and a reloaded check point cleared him out. He did persist past a regular save/load though which was odd. That being said... after I started playing it just has so much to do and explore it's actually a bit overwhelming. I went to try and find a ripper doc I had stumbled upon before thinking I was in the right general area and used the map to help... and I ended up finding 2 entirely different doctors that were more than happy to help.

Early Access Review
I know it's early access so I'll give it a pass in needing tweaking.

The good:
They know what style they are going for and seem to nail it.

It appears to be going for a dark souls vibe, which I get... but that leads into the next part of the review.

The bad:
Skill Respect costs premium currency and it reset on death anyways, probably should just remove the option because it feels bad. It should probably cost run currency.

The soft reset mechanic doesn't give a lot of tangible feedback. The reset currency costs are a touch steep and don't have a huge impact on the game. I reset about 4-5 times and didn't really feel much impact between them mattering (I was getting 100-200 reset currency per reset near the end)

The equipment system looks nice, but your not given enough of it to mindlessly scrap for crafting resources and that seems to be the only source aside from chests which are achievement rewards or premium currency. Example I have what appears to be a good item in my inventory but it has no level 1 effect so I have to upgrade it for it to apply to my run statistics at all, but I've never gotten enough run currency to upgrade it, so do I scrap it to make my stuff better and feel bad when later I could use it? Or should I hold it and wait. I'm just unsure.

The see the systems, and understand how they should work, you scrap equipment which gives you crafting materials to upgrade equipment. Equipment has slots that get items that improve there base abilities. That seems fun, but playing for 12 hours I never got to a point where that was really meaningful. I dropped 5$ in premium currency because I wanted to see what sort of difference it would make, it didn't give me enough to give me a huge edge but I gave me enough to gauge.

I'm leaving a review of my nit picks because I really wanted to enjoy the game, and it seems like I could but the feedback isn't quite there for me, maybe I'm just wanting more instant feedback, but I've played a ton of idle games, and it's normally not something I have a problem with but I for sure felt it here.

Good luck with it, and I hope you hammer it out, and make a great game.

I really want to like this game. I played the whole series on PS2 back in the day, and was excited to play it on PC. However, that isn't possible. I've attempted it 3 times now and I crash in the starting cut scenes and I want to actually play and enjoy the game I'm not going to skip all the cut scenes to avoid a crash.

I looked at the forums and tried the fixes. I uninstalled and installed it on my local drive (secondary drive is a hdd primary is a SSD), I disabled TabletInputServices and nothing worked. I'm planning on returning it, I purchased it through humble bundle so I hope I'm able to but I'm probably stuck with it.

I hope the developers decide to come and make the game playable.

I'm not on a potato - Hopeuflly this info helps come up witha solution if I get a refund I'll be keeping track and I'll get it if things get fixed.
