It's you who should learn how classes work in that game. Even though the Scout is the best for mining minerals and building distant pipelines, you should get back to the team when there is a clearly announced swarm, which you didn't do. A Scout can and should use the stuff in their primary and secondary slots, those things aren't just for show. Scouts simply have different target prioritization. The Driller and Engineer are usually the team's top fraggers, despite what their names suggest.
