This is the best expansion I have ever played.

Amazing story with an interesting antagonist that has a great character development! I don't want to talk a lot about the antagonist just because I don't want to spoil anything.
The soundtracks are top notch, I even stay in the menu for about 3 minutes just to listen to the menu music.
I didn't play the tank job; however, I have played the Dancer job and it is amazing! It has a lot of things buffs, mobility and fun rotation.
The level 80 cap brought great new skills to all the jobs and changed a lot of things specially the healer and tank.
The world is huge! The cities and towns are amazing.
The dungeons and trials ooh boy they are something. There are 9 dungeons and sadly only 3 trials! BUT they are really good!
The greatest RAID I have ever played was the NieR raid! The music, layout, bosses, and mechanics are amazing you'll appreciate them if you played NieR: Automata.
Lastly the endgame content of this expansion. You have the (Extreme) trials and the (Savage) Eden raids and they're both challenging and fun.

TL;DR If you enjoy the game and the game's story, what are you waiting for?? This is the best expansion that this game has ever done. (IN MY OPINION)

I really recommend this expansion!

I've always wanted to play this game when I found out about it but I didn't have a PS3 at the time.
Now that I've played the game and finished it I can easily say that it was worth the wait! The game isn't just a port to those saying that it is. They've upgraded the textures and it looks even better!

Pros:
  • The amazing animation from Studio Ghibli.
  • The character design, world, and music are really fitting and breathtaking.
  • The story of the first act is interesting, and then you'll get a plot twist in the second act.
  • The combat system is fun.
  • I love Pokemon, and the way they've added these familiars and you collect them to fight with you and giving them treats to get stronger and level-up. The whole idea is great.
  • Each dungeon has something interesting or a new mechanic, so it does not feel like you're doing the same thing over and over.
  • I love the Wizard's Companion book! It has everything you want in it. The crafting, treats, magic, stories, and the world map. This is the first time I've played a game without searching in google about how to craft or to do something.

Cons:
  • As I said above the combat system is fun but once you invest a lot of hours in the game it can be slow and mandatory to farm, so I wish that they've added a speedup option or something.
  • The side-quests in this game are boring, most of them are go fetch quests, or fixing someone's brokenheart.
  • The game can feel a bit grindy, when you don't do the quests and hunts.
  • The Ghibli animated cut-scenes are really short and few. I wish if there were more cut-scenes from Ghibli.

I really think the game is enjoyable and has a lot of fun things. The style may seem childish but it fits the game overall.

The game is not perfect but it has something unique that makes up its flaws and I really enjoyed playing the game.
It might be overwhelming in the first 3-4 hours when you get introduced to the mechanics, characters, story, quests, and leveling system. However, once you endure these things you'll enjoy the game.

Pros:
+ I love how well done the voice acting in this game! It is really great and fits every character, even the main character you're playing. (In English)
+ The gear, leveling, and crafting are good.
+ The graphics and world looks amazing. (PS: there is a mod that removes the brownish look of the game)
+ The game comes with mods! You can mod anything, just go to nexusmod (here[www.nexusmods.com])
+ There are 3 classes at the start of the game that you can choose from.
+ The quests, diplomacy, and relationships matters in this game. There is no go fetch quests, they all have a story behind them.
+ The characters in the game are well-written, not all of them, and they are interesting.

Cons:
- The first thing you'll notice in this game is the lipsync, which is awfully inaccurate.
- The combat is somewhat easy, you can always block and attack, which made my experience lacking.
- I know this is not that much of a con but it is for me, which is the lack of minimap! I had to look at the map in the menu every 5 seconds or so.
- The talents in this game are broken! Especially the charisma, once you maxed out your charisma you'll have the easiest conversations and convincing.
- The guns are also broken in this game, once you get a lot of ammo with crafting you'll spam shooting which has no cooldown whatsoever and the enemy will be stunned.

Despite these flaws the game is really great and I really recommend it.
If you think it is not worth the full price, you can always wait for a sale but I think the game is worth its full price.

The game is enjoyable but too short for the price you pay.

It is like watching a horror movie that is 3.5 hours long, with a below average story/plot. I was really disappointed and the developer should release the DLC for free. I have to say it was fun while it lasted, nevertheless get it when it is on a sale! In my opinion the game doesn't have a replay value just to choose another scenario or to save all the characters because you know what is going to happen there will not be any surprise element. However, they suggest that you play the game several times and I don't get it.
It is more enjoyable playing with a friend without telling the other what you're doing or seeing so you don't spoil anything. I love it when your friend gets scared and hear the reaction, or when you both get separated and try to regroup. The visuals are okay, the music and sound effects are spot on. They are atmospheric and engaging. The voice acting is good and fits every character.

I know that I gave a lot of credits to the game but it should be between $15-$20; however, if you have no problems with the price knowing what you'll have and got money to spare then there is nobody stopping you get it ;).

P.S. (If you have finished the game under the 4 hours mark, there is a possibility that you can get a refund).

The game by itself without playing the DLCs, watching the animation, and the movie is not great.
I really hate how the story is being told and unfolded. It is complicated and somewhat mediocre.

Pros:
What I really like about the game are the visuals, music, the open world, and characters. This is the best FF game visually speaking, it has a lot of things to look at and is really visually pleasing. This is I guess the second FF game that has an open world (the first one that is in my mind is FF12 Zodiac Age). The world is nice and it feels really cool to explore riding the car, on foot, or riding the chocobo. The game's music is like any other FF game (it is fascinating!), but my favorite track must be Somnus (click here to listen). The characters introduced at the beginning of the game are your party members but you won't understand a thing about them if you did not watch the animation. I like how well they've developed and the connection they have. It feels like they are best friends or brothers.

Cons:
Okay just like I said in the beginning how the story was told is really annoying and not everyone would enjoy it. It feels like they made the game just to grab money from the players by not telling important things in the original game but they implemented the important events about your party members in DLCs. Furthermore, let me talk about the movie, I was forcing myself to watch the whole movie just so I can understand the game's story and I had to watch the animation about the party members, because in the game they just drop you in the middle of the action! A game's story is a huge thing on a game that depends on stories, when the story fails the game fails with it. The story was mediocre but the other aspects mentioned above made the game good. Another thing that I did not like is the combat gameplay, do not get me wrong the gameplay is good for those who like the fast action combat but it was so easy and there are only 3 buttons you click (the action button, the dodge/block button, and the ability button) you rarely do the special interaction or whatever they call it. I hoped that the combat had more depth to it. Having to play all of the DLCs to understand the plot of the game is really frustrating, they are DLCs they should be optional or something.

TL;DR I recommend the game but you need to watch the movie and the animation before playing the game (The Movie[www.imdb.com] - The Animation). The visuals, music, characters are good in this game but the story and combat system are on the average side. You do have to play all of the DLCs after you finish the game to understand the whole plot of the game.

I have never played FINAL FANTASY XII in the PS2 and this is my first time playing the game but I must say that I've had the most fun playing this game than playing any other FF games.
As we all know every FF has an amazing music and this one has one of the best. You have 3 options to choose which version of the music you want. You've got the Original, Orchestrated, and OST.
Another thing I've really enjoyed is the combat system, it is like playing an MMO in a singleplayer game. However, you'll most likely use the auto-system or what they call "Gambits" while playing. Something that I really appreciate is the 'x2 and x4' speed so I don't have to play really slow while traveling or fighting the same fight. It is really helpful while grinding to level up your party.
The story at first was somewhat confusing to me, because I didn't get anything that is happening for the first 6-10 hours in. However, you'll be introduced to many characters and they'll explain everything as you go on. So I have to say the story takes a while to build up, not that I mind it because the gameplay was fun.
The world is huge, and I mean really huge for a game that came on the PS2! You have a lot of things to do and you'll never feel like you don't have anything to do. You can go and do hunts, explore, and grind if you want to change your pace.
The job system and the license board is complicated at first but you'll understand it eventually. My only advice is to wait and not pick a job until you have all the party members so you can give each character a job that fits them.
(P.S. there is a way to reset your job using "Cheat Engine" and it will not cause a banned because it is a singleplayer game)

The game is really fun and great. You've got a lot of things to do and a lot of choices. So I really recommend this game and it is now my favorite FINAL FANTASY game.

If you are a fan of turn-based JRPGs, get the game.
I would recommend picking up the game when it is on sale because the price is a *bit much*.

  • The soundtrack is incredibly atmospheric and amazing.
  • The pixel art style is fitting and great (if you disable the depth-of-field).
  • The variety of classes and jobs is really good and balanced.
  • There are 8 different stories, one story for each character consisting of 4 chapters.
  • The combat system they implemented is really great with the turns, breaks, and weaknesses.
  • The world is amazing and it encourages the player to explore.

So yes I would really recommend this game if it was between 30 to 40 US DOLLARS.
Get this game when it is on sale.
