I'm sure the game is good, but it gave me a sour taste in my mouth when it had issues enabling DLSS and frame generation on my RTX 4090 with up-to-date drivers. This is unacceptable at 69,99€. Regardless of whether it's a bug that'll get fixed, it ruined my excitement to play the game.

I had a hard time figuring out where to start with the Atelier series, so after much research and deliberation, I chose Rorona - and boy am I glad I did. Atelier Rorona is a lovely time if you like turn-based RPGs, crafting, or slice-of-life visual novels. Rorona has it all.
The game is split into assignments where you get a set amount of time for each, and if you don't complete the assignment in time, it's game over. I didn't find it to be too hard to get them done in time, but it became increasingly harder to prioritize the different things I could do. Sometimes I'd be more focused on crafting, others on exploring combat areas, and sometimes I'd sleep. It all takes up time, and you also have optional objectives to go along with the assignments. You need to be okay with not getting everything done, cause if you're not looking up what to do, then you won't get it all done on your first playthrough.

The game sold me on the Atelier franchise and I'm looking forward to play the next one.

Puzzles aren't as brutally difficult as in the first game, but they're also not stupidly easy. They're just right for me.

Graphics are way better with Unreal Engine 5, compared to the old proprietary Serious Engine they used (even though the first game still looks good.)

Where the game truly differs from the first, is the story. It's not nearly as cryptic, yet still highly thought-provoking. Lots of existential deliberation to be had. This is great stuff.

I'm like 80% done and I consider this one of the best puzzle games ever.
