This game along with A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem are truly monuments to the storytelling ability of the double A gaming space. The fact that they can create such impressive graphics, incredible voice acting, top shelf performance capture, and thematically appropriate gameplay without a AAA budget is out of this world. And maybe none of it would matter if it weren't for the amazing writing that complete's the game. All of the elements fit together so perfectly and the depictions of Senua's mental state are so uniquely and appropriately portrayed. This game is exactly dark enough without being cheap and it will move you to tears. I cannot wait for the sequel.

I did not think that they would top Innocence, and I think objectively they are probably tied, but for me this game hit even harder. The two games together form a perfect complete story, exactly dark enough and so brilliantly acted by the voice cast. Shockingly good graphics and gameplay that may not be earth shattering but it suits this game so perfectly. If you like well written stories that will make you cry then this is a must play. I put it in the same category as the first game and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, games that IMO have come to define the storytelling ability that the double A gaming space is capable of.

If you were interested by the trailer you should buy this game, it delivers on it's promise of a short/medium singleplayer game focused on it's characters.

This game along with it's sequel "A Plague Tale: Requiem" and Ninja Theory's "Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice" have, for me at least, come to define the double A gaming space. The story, graphics, and gameplay fit together so tightly because they are laser focused on the common goal of delivering an emotional story that is not too short or too long. This game and it's sequel both had me in tears by the end and I cannot recommend it enough.

This is a genuinely good story presented through the medium of video games. It is very much a walking simulator in the same way that Gone Home is. I will say that I did like Gone Home more but thats more personal taste I think.

This is a good scifi story with interesting characters and the way you rewind through scenes to follow the different characters is VERY interesting. the scenes themselves are perfectly stitched together, it was great seeing the diferent complex situations that were playing out just around the corner, and how everyones story was a mix of the groups experience and their own individual side problems.

this game is short at around 3 hours, took me 4 because I really enjoy this genre and I hate missing things, so if you think that the defining characteristic of a good game is playtime then this isn't for you. that being said it raised some genuine thoughts about AI and sparked some interesting conversation similiar to 2001: a space odyssey or blade runner that continue to run through my mind even after completing the game and I think that is the mark of good scifi.

FullBrights last game, Gone Home, was a beautiful emotional story that literally brought me to tears, whereas Tacoma (while still having relatable characters and emotions) presents more philisophical and logical questions/discussions, both games are very good at wrapping all of this together in one complete package/story. The long and short of it is: if this genre is for you than you likely already know it, so is this game good? yes, it's quite good, buy it. if this genre isn't for you.... well you're missing out on a good story, hopefully they'll make it a movie for you:p

lets get this out of the way first, this game is receiving bad reviews at the moment strictly because the dev made a copyright strike against pewdiepie, I'm not here to argue that, but it is unfair to let those fake reviews effect the way the game is percieved.

This is a great story game. It's in the same category as gone home, life is strange, dear esther, telltale games, etc. the navigation is interesting because you need to use a compass but it adds to the legitimacy of the experience/time period.
the art style and animation is quite good and the voice acting is absolutely superb. there is some arguing concerning whether or not the ending is "good" but that conversation can't be had without spoiling the ending, I'll just say that I was on the fence when i finished the game but then i looked at some forums online and read some opinions and I have really grown to like the ending from a realism point of view. all in all I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend this game but im willing to admit that it is a story game/walking sim and it isnt for everyone

VERY enjoyable game. It is simple and minimalistic, but the few mechanics it has are very fun and incredibly solid, even the soundtrack fits the game perfectly. sure it's short but even at a mere 20-30 mins its still worth more than it costs. I can only hope that the creator does even more with this premise, I would absdolutely buy a sequel (or since im wishfully thinking, a stealth or parkour game featuring these mechanics)

to be honest, it is a walking simulator with a great story. I genuinely enjoyed every second of learning about this family by going through their belongings, and I lived for the voice acted journal entries of your younger sister. I longed to find out more about her life and her mysterious friend between journal entries. I cried like a baby at the end of this game, it truly kept me in terrible suspense towards the conclusion. this really is more of a story than a game but it is still a game and in fact it is proof that games are art, the atmosphere it creates is entirely unique and the 90's nostalgia is perfect. this is similiar to life is strange but without player choice or other characters which sounds like a bad thing, but in practice there is a beauty in being a fly on the wall, especially since you are finding out about things that have already happened and not taking an active role in them. this game isn't for everyone but I CANNOT recommend it enough.
