I've spent over 3500 hours in SCP: Secret Laboratory, and it's heartbreaking to watch the game slowly die since late 2023; back then, 2023 still carried the vibe of 2020 — a lively and active community, honest teamwork, a working voice chat where players actually communicated and coordinated, complex and engaging mechanics between SCPs, operatives, and Class D, with every round feeling unique and atmospheric; however, after the release of update 14.0, the game took a sharp turn for the worse: performance drastically dropped even on powerful PCs with RTX 4070, FPS frequently dipping to 60-90, optimization became terrible, bugs and glitches multiplied — hit registration broke, animations stuttered, doors and map objects malfunctioned, and some players experienced voice chat disappearing intermittently; but the worst was the community — the game flooded with cheaters and toxic kids who turned a cozy and fun environment into a battlefield of insults, spam, and trolling, admins stopped handling issues properly — often just banning without investigation or ignoring reports; matchmaking is non-existent, player counts dropped significantly, and those who stayed constantly face cheats and toxicity that completely kill the enjoyment; the game turned into a dark, empty place where teamwork and genuine fun no longer exist, but despite all this, I am forever grateful to players like Kicik123, budda, bubr, veks, thechum1k, NikkoGM and everyone I played with — you made this journey special and unforgettable.
