I have been in the fortunate few that didn't really have many performance problems: yes, the performance in the main city isn't the best, when I get near it or enter the city I drop down from 120+ FPS to around 45-60 FPS. The problem here isn't even the FPS count but the frame times which cause a bit of stuttering, the camera movement isn't very smooth. I have quite a good PC with a 7800X3D and 7900XTX and I play at 1440p max settings with FSR2 Quality and RT ON.

The microtransactions are quite ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but there isn't anything that couldn't be found in game and quite frankly I think it is for lazy people with more money then sense who ruin the game for themselves. We could say that it's a morally wrong to incentivise this but the store is actully quite hidden and isn't advertised in a way which is detrimental to the experience.

The problem with Dragons Dogma II is that it's a brilliant and very fun game which has shot itself in the foot with these easy to avoid self L-s. I don't thinkt that the majority of the devs themselves wanted to put microtransactions in the game or rush the release, I would put the blame on the suits.

Putting these aside (which could be very valid reasons to dislike the game, and/or refrain from buying it full price or waiting for a sale), Dragons Dogma 2 for me is THE filling for the hole that Skyrim and Morrowind has left in my hearth with similar jank, massive interactive world, cool mechanics and sense of exploration.
Getting on the road with your pawns pursuing big monsters and helping the folk of Vermund feels like you're in the the Fellowship of The Ring.
The combat so far is really fun with quite a lot of depth, the particle effects for magic are gorgeous. The one-save thing here isn't really bothering me that much because you can quite easily switch to another vocation with no downsides, and you don't have to farm a lot for the discipline points which lets you unlock all the skills. Pawns are charming and helpful, and I really love the idea that if you're struggling with a mission you can just hire a pawn which has quest knowledge, I don't have to exit the game to look up something online, but can receive help within the established world of the game.

I haven't seen the gameplay aspects criticised that much but I have to point out some caveats, that could have been improved upon, are better executed in other games:
- Story: I'm not that far along in the game but I can say that the beginning of the game is quite boring and the quests, NPCs aren't really fleshed out
- Voice acting is also rather so-so, not great, not terrible
- Enemy variety: most of the enemies that you encounter are either goblins or harpies, and sometimes their packs are too frequent
- UI is bit painful to navigate at times and I use an Xbox controller to play the game

All in all, I'm having a ton of fun with this RPG and is so far the only game that I was waiting for this year. It really is unfortonate that it released with these performance problems and the inability to start a new game. If Capcom wouldn't have sneak in the mtx-s so shadily on launch day and would have been more transparent about this, I don't think that the backlash would have been this severe.

I give this game an 8/10 and in my opinion you should wait a bit if you haven't bought it so far, but after the performance is smoothed out, you should absolutely give this a try!

Well, what should I say? It has become one of my favourite game, despite damaging my mental health numerous times. I've got over 600 hours in it, but I still feel like a noob, and learn new things :)

What could I say? Awesome game :) Has 9 different classes with 9 different playstyles, so everybody can find what he likes. It has awesome gamemodes, my personal favourites are: KOTH, and CP maps. And it's always updated so, you never get bored playing this game! And also has nice hats, which are good for trading, and making profit. (But this is a secondary feature for me... I'm not lieing... much ) :D .
Anyway, thank you Valve! This game is just fantastic :)
