Gameplay :
Enemy AI is basically just Yakuza 3's but with less blocking (thank god), but more dodging. Level up system is made in a way that it doesn't take long to max out each character. Each character has a different level of difficulty from early game to late game. Akiyama and Kiryu have a rather easy start, while Saejima and Tanimura have rather difficult starts. Saejima in particular has a really difficult start compared to the other three characters, but trust me on this, he's really good late-game despite how he begins.

Story :
I really like the story despite some if its faults. Something that often gets poked fun of in 4 is the amount of plot twists. I got around it by not keeping count of how many plot twists happen :P. There will be characters you will hate, both the good kind of hate and the bad kind of hate, but otherwise the cast is pretty great.


Just don't get attached to Tanimura too much, he doesn't show up in any future installments

Gameplay isn't as bad as some people claim it to be (speaking for normal difficulty) even with all the blocking and weaker heat actions. People who finish Kiwami 2 and play this game might be disappointed in the gameplay, particularly the combat, but honestly I feel like it's a bit unfair to compare Yakuza 3 to Kiwami 2 A more fair comparison would be comparing Yakuza 3 to the original Yakuza 2.

As for the story, the pacing isn't really good, but otherwise it's alright.

Good game to pass the time. Especially with friends... Assuming you have friends to play with.
