Orcs Must Die is like Pulp Fiction--a cult classic. Longtime supporters like me love Orcs Must Die for its seamless combination of tower defense and third person action. In 2011, Robot Entertainment was one of the first studios to attempt this genre blend. In the decade-plus since, I have not found a game that does a better job (besides the other installments in this series; a close second are the Sanctum games). What makes Orcs Must Die standout are its varied maps, traps, and mobs. As soon as you think you've found the ultimate setup, a new map with different enemies and unlocks forces you back to the drawing board.

I've completed the game twice on both warmage and nightmare difficulties. This game is flat-out awesome. Both DLCs are worthwhile too. The only thing it lacks compared to OMD2 is multiplayer, but as an entry into the series and this genre blend, Orcs Must Die simply cannot be beat. It's a classic.
