It was 1:30 a.m.
I was snacking on a bag of Chex Mix.
On the back of this damn bag there's some code you can put in to unlock a character in some Chex Mix Steam game.
What am I supposed to do?
Am I supposed to pass up this opportunity and possibly miss out on one of the greatest gaming experiences of all time?
Or am I going to capture the moment?

Well, I downloaded the game. My expectations were low. I did, however, have a sense of ambiguity once opening the game up for the first time. Seeing the Chex Mix dudes in their little suits on the menu screen gave me a rush of blood that I could not explain.

I start playing the game. Looking at the trailer, I assumed it would be a cartoony Doom ripoff, but, boy, was I wrong. It was so much more than that.

The sheer joy that flooded through my veins the first minute into playing the game can only be attributed to drug use. It was like going on a heavenly trip; all my issues blown away in the wind like a tumbleweed through a desert. I was at peace. I had achieved nirvana. I could see new colors. All the problems and questions that I had in the past now were boiled down into one single answer. I had discovered the meaning of life. I had evolved to a higher state of consciousness. I no longer needed this husk of a human body to survive in; that vessel I had depended on for so long had become utterly worthless.

Chex Quest HD might seem superfluous. Believe me though, when I say that this game saved my life. Playing this game was probably the best experience I have ever (or will ever) have had. I could not recommend this enough to anybody.
