I learned about this game years ago when an episode of Steam Train featured it. It was mesmerizing to watch, and after finally picking it up after four years, I can say it's just as mesmerizing to play. The cryptic messages between planets are fun to read, the glitchy visual style is unique to anything else I've played, and it's a fun game to pick up to satisfyingly burn time.

A game is more than just art and entertainment though; Flywrench is just as extraordinary in function as it is in style. The game has incredibly tight and responsive controls, and when a real glitch actually happens, there are several checks in place to make sure you aren't soft-locked. It's not the most complex game in the world, but it looks and feels great to play, and that's all I really look for in a video game.

The original in a critically-acclaimed series, the PC port does have a lot of issues, mostly with framerate. However, this can be fixed with third party fixes/mods with a little bit of effort. I reccomend this game because of it's incredible creativity and attention to detail, as well as it's satisfying controls and challenging campaign. Not only this, but Dark Souls I provides characters worth being emotionally invested into, a story worth pursuing, and the greatest feeling of satisfaction when striking down a beast. With NG+, the replayability skyrockets when you have the ability to strike down bosses in a matter of seconds and make pheonominal progress compared to a previous run. This game, or any entry in the franchise, is a must have for your steam library.

The Binding of Isaac, and all of it's downloadable content, is a force to be reckoned with. This game provides endless combinations of items to create totally unique, rogue-like dungeon runs similar to that of the original Legend of Zelda. With over 20 endings, completing this game all the way through is a feat, but well worth it. Even if you're not a completionist, this game can still provide for a very good time, as you will never know what items you may end up with, what bosses you'll fight, or how far you will get. The ability for this game to provide for so many unique experiences puts it near the top of my list of favorite games of all time, with some of the greatest replayability I've seen in a video game.

Thumper is an incredible title that has extremely responsive controls, both beautiful and horrifying visuals, and immense replayability with 9 levels, each with 15+ stages. Getting up there in one of the most difficult rhythm games i've ever played, it also provides plenty of challenge for completionists. The best part about this game is landing those perfect hits, the way the visuals warp and the controller vibrates really feels like you're putting all your power into the pressing of a button. This alone makes thumper an incredibly enjoyable experience, but with more level mechanics being added as you play, it never gives you a dull experience. play thumper and youll find yourself getting dragged back into it again and again.

With a powerful soundtrack, powerful cast of characters, and creative environments, Undertale both tells and lets you decide a great story. Though this game is an RPG, the RPG aspects of this game are put on a backburner to the story and characters, even though blending bullet hell style battling into an RPG is something that hasn't been done before. However, unlike normal RPGs, this game does not provide you with the feeling of earned power through grinding. The enemies have permadeath, and the strength scaling as you level up is beyond ridiculous. its very obvious that if you decide to go a grinding route, they want you to be extremely overpowered. This game also has very low replayability, unless you want to achieve every ending by playing through the entire game at least 3 times. Despite it's flaws, Undertale provides an engaging story and effective emotional connection to characters, and if you're into that sort of thing without caring much about quality and satisfying gameplay, this game is definitely for you.

SAVANT Ascent is perhaps one of the most worthwhile purchases on steam I have made during my time on this platform. For the very low price of 1.99, this game provides an endless arcade mode and leaderboards, along with incredible art and satisfying animation, and a challenging campaign. In addition to visuals, this game has controls that new players can pick up in a matter of seconds. As for the music, this game is based off of the electronic dance music producer, Savant, so the entire soundtrack is looped versions of songs from ISM, Love, and others. Even if you don't like the EDM scene, this game really feels like it packs a punch, and is definitely worth a try if you're into constant action.

I bought this game expecting a cool, rather difficult rhythm game. What I got instead was nauseating visuals, insane difficulty spikes, and intense frustration. Super Hexagon will push you to your reaction time limits right from stage one. Though the game is rather simple, I think it's personally TOO simple in that the only immersive experience it provides is drive to get a higher score the next time you play. I had been recommended this game by my friends because they thought it was "addicting," but i just found it to not be the type of game i enjoy having in my steam library, but instead as a gimmick to burn time while on my phone through a mobile version of it.

The most stunning part of SLENDER: The Arrival, is the visual improvement from it's predecessor, SLENDER: The Eight Pages. As a potential triple A title, the visuals enhance the horror aspects of the classic slender experience. A full fledged story keeps you invested in characters and progressing overall, but without taking away tension and suspense when actually playing through the game. The animation and soundtrack are just as suspenseful, keeping me on my toes and ready to throw my headphones off my head in time for a jumpscare.

Sonic Generations is a great Sonic anniversary title, contrary to it's history. This game combines the classic SEGA Genesis era sonic gameplay with more modern gameplay as seen in games like Sonic Colors or Sonic Unleashed. Although the plot may be a little stale and lackluster, the creativity behind it is appreciable. What really makes this game great is the visuals and the resposive, feel-good controls and action feedback. All movement during modern sonic stages feels extremely powerful, and all the movement in classic sonic stages feels earned by doing the right things at the right time. theres also plenty of missions and extras beyond the main story, so its bound to keep you consistently entertained for hours.

FEZ creates a very unique twist on 2D platforming that leads you to finding secrets at every angle. With a cute artstyle, challenging puzzles, and seemingly endless collectibles, it provides a very pleasant gaming experience. My only complaint is the lack of emotional attachment to the story of FEZ, you're just kindof thrown right in with little to no details. People who are more used to story-driven games may find it hard to be completely invested.
