"I really like the game, but I couldn’t find the stupid cake."

I still enjoy this more than pretty much any other fps due to several things such as accuracy solely relies on your ability to predict paths rather than including a random wobble or decreased accuracy when moving, distinct and memorable characters which allows for more aggressive gameplay since you aren't taking those extra moments to determine an enemies characteristics, and I like how it actually has a style.

It's changed a lot throughout the years but there aren't many in the same genre with a level of silliness on par with this one. Closest game to this one is Overwatch but I find the characters aren't as endearing. Hopefully team fortress 2 somehow manages to push through all of it's problems ( outlook is bleak methinks). Ideally Valve would release a new one on a more modern engine as it's about time for one.
