This game is phenomenally good, and I have already put a degenerative amount of hours into it. :)

much aim

It seems like a lot of the reviews seem to applaud the game for its atmosphere. Which, to give it credit, does a good job of creating. However, once you have the game down into 2 phases: find where the ghost generally is/its room, and constantly test the ghost to narrow evidence down. It becomes painfully obvious how inconsistent the ghost appears given the hints the game tells you.

Saying its name pisses it off?
I can stand alone in a dark room with a friend in the van repeating the name and not get a ghost appearance for a solid minute. Does ghost hunting reflect this? Probably, don't get a reaction 90 percent of the time in "real" ghost hunting. However in this game,you get ghosts that don't bother appearing, or appear once every 5 minutes due to being shy.

Additionally, one of the main ways to consistently find the room the ghost resides in, the thermometer, seems to be particularly inconsistent. Despite the book saying all spirits make rooms at least somewhat cold, that is false. You can easily explore the house having the same temperature throughout. Only time it seems to work is only under the condition of "freezing temps" and nothing else. Which, at a low level, makes narrowing the ghost's room down very tedious and is only worsened by the inconsistent ghost responses.

TL;DR
Pros: Good atmosphere, VR and voice chat only is very scary.
Cons: Tedious and monotonous gameplay combined with inconsistent mechanics make the game easily boring after getting used to said atmosphere.

Edit - Significantly smaller player base, but still an enjoyable and improved experience from first release.
