Super cute and entertaining autobattler that's easy to get into and even easier to just keep playing. Great fun to play on phone as well. Highly recommend!

A charming and delightful game. Really easy to chill out and relax, also easy to be "stressed" over trying to min max each day. Either way you play is a lot of fun in my opinion--very easy to lose a ton of hours in this game as the content is seemingly endless. Play how ya want to get the most enjoyment out of this game.

This game easily belongs among my favorite video games of all time, for many reasons. It would take an unreasonably long review to discuss all of those reasons, so instead I'll focus on just one.

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about NieR:Automata is the sheer number of themes this game is able to explore, and how it does that in a way that never feels preachy, or heavy-handed, or condescending. Upon finishing the game I was left truly impressed with the way it was able to cohesively and thoughtfully impart so many different ideas.

If you were to ask a handful of random people to distill NieR:Automata down to a single encompassing idea, you'd likely get wildly varying answers: culture, identity, existentialism, sacrifice, meaningless cycles of violence, the human condition, human connection. Anyone could argue that, at its core, NieR:Automata is about any one of those ideas, and I couldn't disagree.

What makes NieR:Automata special, in my opinion, is the way in which it handles its themes in the context of the game's narrative. It is done with such care that it genuinely feels like the game's themes organically tie into the narrative; that the narrative is always naturally driving those themes forward. And as the player, you're constantly interacting with that narrative in a way that makes for one of the best realizations of interactive storytelling I've personally experienced.

There's a lot more positive I could say about this game, and plenty of negatives too if I'm being honest. But the aforementioned intersection of thematic depth, narrative, and player-interaction is done exceedingly well, and in a way unlike almost anything I've seen in a game before. That reason alone makes this game worth a play.

I absolutely could not more heartily recommend NieR:Automata. It makes for a very touching, almost personal experience in a way that I could never have sensibly expected. If you haven't already, I hope you take a dive into this sad robot-filled, melancholic world.

This game can consume all your free time and make you wonder why you even have other games.

Having said that, amazing game. Skill progression is perfect and it's super fun playing with friends. Super fun playing random people too. The devs are pretty great, usually actively seeking community feedback and implementing features and making changes the community wants.

If you don't have this and are remotely interested, I highly recommend it. The vast majority of people who buy this will end up wishing they would have purchased it sooner.
