It's more EDF, which is good. It had a third-party account requirement that wasn't on the store page until after launch, which was bad. But they fixed that, so it's good.

Feels like playing PSO, or a less gachafied Dragalia Lost. Story's okay, a bit cliche, but it does a good job of filling you in on the relative details and terms from the original game's setting. Excellent music, and it feels like the area designers really had a field day. The story took me about ~15 hours to beat, with some really good setpieces and good atmosphere, and I'm looking forward to sinking my teeth into a pretty substantial grindy postgame.

Nioh 2 is basically an ARPG, think Diablo, Torchlight, Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, but it's smushed into a passable soulslike. The game presents an absolutely ballbusting opening that you will come back to with improved gear, skills and personal ability, and go "wow, this is way easier now that I have ten new options to deal with it". The PC port is not the best but the game performs acceptably on a 1080ti and 2700X, which is certainlybetter than can be said for some popular, PC-native releases and looks quite well at settings that get a smooth 60fps throughout.

I would recommend this for fans of build-crunch and high-risk action alike, with its character building expanding through the NG+ cycle with additional equipment rarities, set bonuses and effects, as well as enemies' AI, move set, placement and status changing - giving you new toys to play with alongside new challenges to apply them to. All in all, an engaging and enjoyable game, and one I expect to get plenty more enjoyment out of.

Realm of the Mad God, but better and with planes. Simple enough.

I got this game not too long after it came out. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, the developers were decent and communicated well with the community, the game was pretty good.

Then came the unclear balance changes, the continued, long-term radio silence, and the DLC. The game went from completely free to there being a higher cost to DLC than to the base game very quickly, and only continued downhill from there, culminating in a recent decision. This decision was to go back on their previous statement that the game would never have microtransactions by introducing CSGO-like crates that you pay to unlock for a random weapon skin - one that increases the power of the weapon, of course. This was done during an event that they have been advertising as bringing "free content to all players of PAYDAY 2", which is obviously not the case in such a move. The community backlash has been tremendous, and yet there has been no word from the developers, for three days since this happened.

Would you really want to give your money and trust to such a group?
