The game is very much a one-trip-pony that gets boring really fast. Ubi$oft failed to deliver on a number of things they originally promised within the game pre-launch.

Comabt is clunky, driving mechanics are poor, the hacking is, lets face it, a gimmick. The only redeeming factor is that there is some kind of story but even that is mediocre at best. Poor effor.

The defacto of space flight simulator with an emersive open universe where you can follow whichever path you wish, from pirating to mining to owning countless stations across the 'verse. The universe is literally yours to play with.

After playing some of the other Lord of the Ring universe based games, I can say this is by far the best. Such an immersive world driven by a great story and plot allows for a player to be completely swallowed into game playing endlessly for hours.

The game boasts a lot of base content compared to many games with tons of side missions/quests, exploratory rewards and means to better yourself by learning game play mechanics or by earning experience and earning new runes!

Graphically (PC - Ultra Settings) this game is stunning, with beautiful environments and fluent 'level design' I find my self often running around and taking in the world that was built. There is a fast travel system yet I never seem to use it, the map is fairly large, but not large enough to become a pain to travel across, especially with all of the various side content or a fight with one of the 'bosses' of the games, which thankfully are fairly common.

SoM has a very much 'Assassins Creed' style of gameplay and is a must buy if you are a fan of those games, or J. R. R. Tolkien universe.

The only bug bear that I personally have is I find games like this rather repetitive, this is the reason I stopped playing AC. As long as they don't try and milk this games style and universe it will be fine, but I would be willing to make purchase of a sequel if one does ever get released.
