It's a classic game that brings back nostalgic memories from first finding out about it from a trailer in the original Ghost Recon and later playing it on the Playstation 2. Its fantastic visual style hasn't aged, although for a better experience you need to follow a few guides to change some .ini files for better FOV and resolution. About one gripe I have with this game was at first figuring out and differentiating the controls for weapons and inventory, but after some time playing I got used to it.
I would recommend buying this game rather than the remake, because it still has problems to fix and it's better priced.
