Goro Majima (真島 吾朗, Majima Gorō) is a recurring major character in the Yakuza series series first introduced in the original Yakuza. He is featured as a playable protagonist in Yakuza 0, Yakuza: Dead Souls, and the "Majima Saga" in Yakuza Kiwami 2. His unpredictability, ferocity in combat, and accomplishments as the captain of the Shimano Family earned him the nickname "The Mad Dog of Shimano" (嶋野の狂犬, Shimano no Kyōken). He is the former patriarch of the Majima Family, the founder and former president of Majima Construction, and the former vice-chairman of the Tojo Clan.

Kazuma Kiryu is a main protagonist in the serious crime thriller Yakuza series. He is also a real estate agent, a taxi driver, a cabaret club manager, the Fourth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, a baseball coach and team player, a musician, a producer, an arena fighter, a bowling champion, a pizza delivery man, a psychologist, a fisherman, the Patriarch of the Kiryu Clan, Lieutenant of the Dojima Family, a voice actor and finally a father to a famous idol.
