Way more fun with a friend, and after you buy a ton of DLC. They go on sale pretty regularly for $1-2 so just keep your eye out.

Some constructive criticism:

The game's command structure needs a total rework. The commander should not have to be a Squad Leader. You're already overloaded while trying to SL, and adding Commander duties to that is too much. The commander needs to be on his own, focused only on planning, communicating, and coordinating the other squads. The whole point of the game, being coordinating and communicating, is basically impossible because of this. Everyone spams the command radio, unimportant info is shared to everyone while the SLs are trying to pay attention to what their own squads need.

Too it takes a huge load off the shoulders of the SLs if someone can tell them where to put the FOBs and whatnot, instead of having to do it themselves. Someone who knows the metagame can do commanding and treat the game kinda like an RTS, while the squads try to keep him informed of what's happening and try to execute his orders. You know, being coordinated.

Besides that, the game is fantastic.

Well, ummmmm, ignoring the rather disturbing imperialistic sociopolitical implications the game makes which have become all too real earlier this year, and going on ahead and acknowledging that we are not the good guys in this story: it's fantastic.

Do be aware: the new patch brought back the incredible glitch effects. And it also completely upset the balance of the game, to the point that I'm not even sure if it's fun to play anymore, so be aware of that.

One of the greatest games ever made. Play for a while in vanilla, learn what suffering is, and then go crazy with the mods. You will never run out of places to see and things to be dismembered by. And as every true Kenshi enjoyer knows: Shek women are love, Shek women are life.

There are still a lot of bugs to iron out, and the performance could definitely be better, but this game is one of a kind. If you want anything similar, you have to dust off S.W.A.T 4 and play that, as I agree with many that this is essentially S.W.A.T 5.
