It's the same formula they've followed for years. If you're going to expend energy being a weird little snowflake incel, get mad at Ubisoft for their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ business practices and how they treat their employees. Be upset that they can't be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to come up with anything innovative.

Back in the day, this would have got bonus Gamer™ points for a lesbian sex scene. Now, instead of fetishizing it, we hate it. Grrr.

The game itself is pretty, runs well enough, typical 7/10 slop from Ubisoft.

Honestly pretty good. It definitely takes the best parts of old Bethesda RPGs and does its own thing. Vibes are dark, combat is fun enough.

For a F2P TF2/OW/ETC clone, it's not bad.

It's a bit too casual, but it's alright I guess.

So far it's a solid 7.5/10. My biggest critique is the characters they do bring back feel disconnected enough that it'd have been better to just leave them out. If you go in with the mindset of it being a new IP, it's a fine game. If you go in expecting Origins/BG3 type gameplay or dark storylines, then you're dumb because this franchise hasn't been that since Origins. Neither DA:2, or DA:I were on par with DA:O. DA:2 was such a bigger pile of ♥♥♥♥ than this, that anyone who complains about Veilguard and "misses" 2/Inq is being disingenuous at best.

If the game blows my mind, or pivots to just suck, I'll update my review. Otherwise it's just an average ARPG in a world full of them. If you enjoy it, great. Otherwise pick it up on sale, or find something else to cry about. If anything it just feels like Inquisition rehashed a decade later.

It's a solid 7/10, nothing more. Combat gets stale relatively quickly - which is fine, since the campaign is maybe 10 hours long. Operations roughly double that play time for your first completion run, then you've effectively reached the end game.

The "end game" is basically grind out the same 8 missions for slow cosmetic unlocks. The season pass seems to just be a year of cosmetic drops every other quarter. If they intend to add more maps, they have communicated it very poorly. Oh, and there is PvP that feels like an afterthought.

My biggest personal gripe is how repetitive combat gets. Melee is mostly button mashing, and guns feel very similar (I mean, not shocking, 80% are bolter variations).

As is, if you enjoy Helldivers, or Vermintide type horde shooters, you'll probably enjoy this. Otherwise, I'd wait for a sale.

I don't normally like survivor types, but this one is pretty good. I love the atmosphere and art if nothing else.
