Definitely an acquired taste, and certainly many of the cutscenes are overlong, but I can't help but explore the world, it can be truly tense when encountering a bunch of BT's

OK It's getting a positive review, but it's for the Development Team's obvious passion for their creation and their artistry, not as a fantastic RPG that everyone should play.

I just got to the end earlier today. In my view it's only loosely an RPG at all. It's more Broken Sword than Baldur's Gate. Granted, with some majestic dialogue and a very clever internal monologue system; but that's all the experience was for me. I learned a lot about a fictional place with a fictional history thinking it would maybe matter in my future decision making further on in the story, but it rarely did.
I appreciate it is extremely clever, with a well-crafted and deep political history, very well written/acted....but a fun RPG game? Not really for me.

It's the best fun I've had since the last Skyrim! Even holds up under a ton of mods.

Many months later and the fun is still there - mods galore.

..And even longer after, still returning regularly, even 6 years later

still playing after all this time
